This is the third pair of these pants that I've bought and the last two served me well in Somalia & Iraq. I didn't find them too heavy & they are very well built and hard wearing. Personally I appreciate the cargo pockets for separating certain items of equipment and the only (minor) negative is that I don't have much use for the small pockets forward of the hand pockets. Otherwise an excellent piece of kit.
I've had a pair of these for a little over a year now and i have to say they're completely bomb proof. I like many others do feel that in some cases tad gear is a little over priced but after a years hard use almost daily including CQB airsoft, Wild camping, Bouldering, Sport and lead climbing, Hiking and just about everything you can think of in between. Baring the tad logo Ti eye Velcro ripping off there isn't a mark on them. And they've snagged on just about anything you can imagine! Here's a few of my thoughts after owning: The RS material is a fare bit heavier than i was expecting. In hind site i would probably go for the AC version if buying again as these are a bit warm for the summer months. The small pockets inside the main ones make a great (more discrete) place to clip a small knife The leg drawstrings are surprisingly useful! especially in muddy environments or to keep out of the way of a climbing shoe The 2 cargo pockets are absolutely massive.. almost overly large but the 3 organizer pockets do a decent job of keeping large items from "sloshing" around. The mag pouch slit is a bit of a strange size, lose for an SMG mag but a little tight for an AR, especially with gloves on. I like the idea but i think the execution could have been better as it does leave the cargo pocket slightly insecure. They are quite a baggy fit, for the weight of the material this lead to great range of movement but does make these are more of a "tacticool" than a tactical pant in appearance
Absolutely top of the range BDU pants. I love TAD's RS fabric, it's so soft, lightweight and strong. The DWR treatment on it is unbelievable too, stains and splashes just wipe off, even after being through the wash. The fit on these pants is perfect, high rise, and loose around the seat, you can really move in them. So many storage options and hidden pockets, you'll never be short of an elegant place to store anything you need to. I really appreciate the leg drawstrings to tie up the hem around your boots. I'd say they're a field pant more than something to wear everyday though, they're a bit baggy and you will stand out. I wear my TAD Recon pants as an everyday tactical pant, they're quite similar, just a slimmer leg. I take a 31W 32L in Levi's 501 and the 30W 32L fit perfectly in these. Heinnie were great as usual. I really trust them, and wouldn't buy from anyone else.
