Streamlight MicroStream LED

Great light. Bright enough for most work and very portable. I've used this crawling beneath apparatus to check wiring. In the back of equipment racks. I've used the backwards facing clip to attach the Microstream to my cap to use as a headtorch when soldering or working in bad light when I need both hands. Extremely useful EDC.

Do not be put off by the price of these torches - there are cheaper versions out there (and I've tried them) but in my experience none come close to the performance and reliability of these. I've owned and used Microstreams for at least five years. Of the five I've purchased, all are still functioning perfectly. I'm about to order three more. They come supplied with a superb lanyard and I wear my torch around my neck. It's not much larger than the AAA battery that goes inside it, so is easy to wear and forget. Having it around my neck makes it instantly available for use, too. A brilliant feature is the forward activated push switch on the rear, enabling silent use and quick bursts of light in tactical situations. Many other brands use reverse activated switching that only produces light after the switch is fully depressed, released and clicked on. The body and threads are all aluminium and it's sealed with O rings. Light output is extremely impressive for such a diminutive unit, and is easily sufficient. yet has a very good battery life if used sensibly. This torch will illuminate trees a couple of hundred feet away on a dark night! I always carry one and they also fit perfectly in the small left hand pocket of my Fjalraven Carl trousers (also highly recommended) Streamlight also make a longer, two battery version of this, but I recommend sticking to this diminutive wonder as the smaller size is perfect for EDC. With the new two way clip this torch can easily be clipped to the front of your cap, making it into a great head torch. I often hold mine in my mouth too, which is easy and comfortable given it's tiny size. I cannot recommend these highly enough. Buy one and, like me, I suspect you'll purchase more!

First one had to be replaced due to fault, i then gave the brand new replacement to a friend that had non stop problems with the switch. Save your money & buy the superior Fenix LD02 Obviously no fault lies at the door of HH, they were excellent as usual.

I've had one in my pocket. For about 2 years now pretty much all the time. Works well and very light. Bought the wife one also. Awsome.

Not only was the service from HH AMAZING but the torch itself is the upgraded version with improved clip and a higher lumen output, cannot fault HH or streamlight.

The picture and description show/describe the original model of the MicroStream. In fact the newer version was shipped to me with the upgraded pocket clip which returns on itself in an S shape so it can be mounted on the peak of your cap for hands free use. Also it now boasts a 28 lumens output not the stated 20 lumens. For those of you who are interested the light doesn't use constant LED/battery technology (what do you expect at this price?) so you will get the 28 lumens for the first hour of burn and then a small dip in output over the next 1/2 hour with a fairly fast decline in output over the next 1/2 hour and you'll get about 2 lumens for the last 15 mins until the battery goes completely dead (2.25 hours total). So a solid performance for the first hour and then a gradual decline in output with plenty of warning that you need to get a new battery in the light. On the battery front the one I received was a Duracell so no cost cutting there! Very happy :)

Small in size and price, but big on performance. Good light throw from the 20 lumen output. AAA batteries are readily availible witch is a bonus. High quality construction and ergernomicaly pleasing. Simple operation with push switch, and a solid pocket clip.
