Description

The Spyderco UK Penknife Lightweight Dark Blue CPM S110V is the long-awaited companion to the famously best-selling Spyderco UKPK (Spyderco UK Penknife).

The original Spyderco UKPK was developed in response to UK knife carry laws (see the Heinnie Blog for more details). The UKPK has since become _the_ cutting tool for knife users and world travellers. The UK Penkinfe was the founding member of Spyderco's SLIPIT non-locking knives. The notch-joint mechanism holds the blade safely open during use, but does not lock it mechanically.

In this version, a premium steel has been used, in the form of CPM S110V Stainless. This steel is rich in vanadium and niobium carbides, which lend themselves to high wear and corrosion resistance.
The high quality blade is paired with an injection moulded FRN (fibreglass reinforced nylon) handle in the deep blue colour which is shared with all Spyderco's elite CPM S110V series of knives.

The knife is finished off with Spyderco's legendary wire pocket clip, reversible, allowing both left or right side, tip up carry.
A true legend of the UK knife world has been reborn.

    Spyderco Uk Legal Lightweight S110v

Posted by Tony Benson on 17th Sep 2022

I recently purchased a new version Heinnie Haynes of their S30v DP Uk Legal leaf shape i liked the steel but not the new blade shape I didn't want to spend another £30 because I really like the more traditional shaped blade but it wouldn't have bothered me if it was S30v instead of S110v i just prefer the more traditional shape its a very good knife perhaps anything over £100 is to expensive maybe the older previous S30v Heinnie Haynes with the traditional blade shape is discontinued i don't know but if It ever comes back in stock at £90 is the better value but will it ever return because I just don't like the new leaf shape on the new G10 S30v limited edition hence me returning it

    S110v

So when I bought this knife I had heard many horror stories of s110v being a nightmare to sharpen. After a few extra purchases using diamond stones it sharpens to a wicked edge and hold the edge for a long time. Being in the UK it can sometimes be a pain with UK laws, and finding a knife for hard use and which can sustain a sharp edge can be a pain. This ticks all the boxes, UK legal, solid back spring, it’s defiantly the one for me.

Very sharp and very lightweight ukpd. The scale does feel cheap compared to g10 but its strong and sturdy

Spyderco UK Penknife Lightweight Dark Blue CPM S110V

Last year I said I wouldn't start a new knife collection, well Spyderco is developing into one. It's a great brand, if a bit pricey, and this one was up to their usual high standard. Waiting for the Salt series to come back into stock :) and then I'll have 2 more for my collection

    Spyderco UKPK

Great every day carry UK legal pocket knife. Razor Sharp out the box. Especially like the dark navy blue scales and it’s super safe for a none locking knife with a nicely placed finger choil.

    UKPK CPM S110V

This is a really practical edc knife for my needs. It's really light so I don't notice the weight in my pocket. It arrived very sharp and does all I ask from it. The quality is great. All the parts are well finished, the fit is perfect: symmetrical and no gaps, and the opening and closing actions are ideal. It's smooth and easy to open one-handed and has distinct resistance to accidental closing while still able to be closed one-handed. I seldom have any heavier-duty cutting tasks but the slim 2.5mm blade thickness and 19⁰ sharpening angle mean I would choose a more robust blade for that. Overall, it's all that I'd hoped for and even better than I expected.

    Spyderco UKPK S110V

A fantastically slicy lightweight little Spyderco that's kind of a cross between a Delica size and a slimline Chaparral. The s110v will cut for longer than even m390 given proper heat treats and suits this edc format perfectly but beware, it has virtually no toughness. I've managed to chip the tip of my Manix 2 in s110v easily, being a bit of an idiot admittedly, but with diamond stones it was surprisingly easy to reprofile. TLDR: I think overall this knife has a perfect UK legal blade size, great ergonomics, beyond super steel! and useful slicy grind making it a highly recommended little edc that'll disappear in your pocket.
