The Spyderco UK Penknife Salt is a masterfully crafted folding knife designed to meet stringent UK knife laws while providing exceptional performance and corrosion resistance. Developed as a response to restrictions on locking knives, it was the first non-locking member of Spyderco’s ultra-corrosion-resistant Salt Series. It now comes with precision machined CPM Magnacut Steel, known for its outstanding edge retention and durability, along with being corrosion resistant.

Its hollow ground, leaf-shaped design ensures precise cutting, and the high-visibility yellow handle, made from robust fibreglass-reinforced nylon (FRN), offers a comfortable yet secure grip with a non-slip texture.

The accessible Trademark Round Hole complements a reversible, black, deep-pocket wire clip to make its carry, deployment, and operation completely ambidextrous.

I regret buying other knives

I did not buy this specifically for the blade material, but because I wanted the colour and there was a discount. I previously bought a number of other cheaper pocket knives, I will use those when I think there is a risk of losing it, but really I wish I had gone straight to buying a UKPK, and never bought the others. Sheer practicality and all round usefulness makes this incomparable to the others I have.

This is my first experience with Magnacut, but not my first UKPK. It's the same capable, lightweight knife it always was and an excellent EDC choice, as there is very little it can't handle. After a few weeks use, the blade steel doesn't feel substantially different to my CPM SPY27 model, but I expect it to hold an edge better, after prolonged use. With the current introductory offer from HH, this is an absolute bargain and if you're sitting on the fence, I'd climb down, immediately.

As great as expected

The best UK friendly everyday-use knife I've had, and it's been everywhere with me since it arrived. The blade shape makes it a great cutter and the blade steel is next-level, it's still as sharp as the day it arrived and it feels strong and capable. Handles are basic and functional, but not uncomfortable, even under heavy use, and this is a light knife. Not the kind of pretty-knife you look after, or keep in a cupboard, definitely the one that ends up doing everything.

Must be tough

It must be tough as it survived delivery without a scratch - unlike my Spyderco Para Military 2, which the delivery person tried their best to destroy.
