Proudly offering all the features and benefits that define a Spyderco knife in a budget-friendly package, the Tenacious has long been the centerpiece of the Value Folder line. The Tenacious Lightweight raised the bar even further, replacing the original G-10 scales with injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) that reduced the knife’s weight by almost 12 percent and adds the extreme grip security of Spyderco’s Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern. For tactical end users, the newest version of this lightweight powerhouse adds a low-profile black-oxide blade coating and matching black-coated hardware and clip.

OK but not great considering the price tag!

Posted by Oz on 1st Jul 2020

Heinnies service is first class and delivery was fast.

I liked the look of this knife and the lightweight FRN element/black blade. I love the feel of the FRN and it is a little lighter but not by much and is more of a novelty. It is very grippy and has great ergos.

Unfortunately these chinese made Spyderco knives suffer from poor manufacturer quality control and are inconsistent in their construction these days. The first knife I received had a lovely action but threads were missing on one of the holes when switching the clip to tip up right carry (I did not strip them out). I have a lot of experience with these knives and can confirm that the knife I initially received had no threads to speak of when I went to relocate the pocket clip to tip up right carry (on one of the screws). The screws for the clip on this knife had fresh clean BLUE loctite on the threads and was well lubed. I sent this back with no bother and heinnie kindly sent me a replacement. The replacement knife I received had really stiff/dry action and needed considerable lubing and adjustment to better the action and centering of the blade (still not perfect). Whilst switching the clip over I noticed the screws for the clip and including the ones on the FRN scales with the exception of the pivot were caked in very dry RED loctite on the threads which had become very discoloured resembling the colour of rust. I spent some time painstakingly manicuring the individual threads on each screw removing the hardened grime with a pin to clean them up as I went. The knife moving parts and screws appeared to be extremely dry and was not consistent with the last one received. After re-lubing and adjusting the knife with the correct grade Blue loctite I have managed to get this to where I want it now. Also knife centring on these knives is not perfect no matter what you do to them (older ones have far better centering).

Heinnie have been good in addressing my problem throughout the process although and I am now happy with the knife.

    Tenacious lightweight "Nice"

Posted by Goldie on 25th Jun 2020

Nice lightweight version of this classic , weighing in at just 105. Well centred no play and only needed a dozen strokes with a strop to be poppin.

Hiennie as always the best service you can get
