Being tenacious means one holds fast. One is persistent and cohesive. It means being tough and tireless until achieving your goal: all knife-worthy definitions for a worthy knife.

The mid-sized Spyderco Tenacious has a black G-10 laminate handle, milled with prolonged fatigue-free cutting in mind. Tucked inside are skeletonized steel liners increasing the handle’s rigidity and strength without adding non-functioning weight or bulky thickness.

The 8Cr13Mov stainless blade is leaf-shaped and ground flat from spine to cutting edge for cutting performance. The blade’s shape coupled with an oversized Spyderco Round Hole and textured spine jimping allow you to open the blade and position your thumb on the spine in slip-proof confidence ready for work. A Walker Linerlock (with jimped liner) and a 4-way pocket clip lets you set your carry and draw preference: Tip-up/tip-down left-hand/right-hand. Screw together construction.

    Excellent

Easily the best knife I own, absolutely no blade play, cuts paper like nothing I’ve ever seen out of the box, feels strong and dense but still weighing very little. Just an all round spectacular knife

As good as they say .

Bought this soon after my great experience with the Persistence . Loads of positive reviews for this model and they are totally justified , same great fit and finish and an overall quality feel . The blade is superb , beautifully ground and seriously sharp straight out of the box . My only negative point is the same as the Persistence in that the " Spydy hole " needs attention as it is pretty sharp and tough on the thumb especially while its breaking in. I also noted some people mentioning it feeling heavy or bulky but i honestly didnt get that at all. Just like before im looking for my next Spyderco but this time a UK legal carry , hope the HH UK pk isnt going too be long ! Paul.

    Spyderco Tenacious

Posted by John on 21st Dec 2018

Why is this knife so good ? I have a few blades; Delica, Paramilitary 2, Para 3, Ray Mears Spyder wolf and The Tenacious ( black blade ) as well as a Sebenza and few others knives Helle, Fallkniven etc. I was very impressed by the Tenacious ( which I purchased four years ago recommended by an expert a lady bushcrafter ) that I assumed the more expensive, lighter, slightly shorter bladed Spyderco knives MUST be better and decided to work my way through them and see slowly realizing they are not, to the point that these knives are back in their box or passed to my mates. The Para 3 and Delica both had blade play out of the box which I can only put down to poor engineering and quality control , both expensive knives made in USA and Japan where you would expect better. The Tenacious made in China locks solid no blade play after 4 years. So the Tenacious is a great knife: As a cooking knife, it slices very well and the blade is wide enough for spreading sandwiches ,As a camp knife it will batten fire wood, dress sticks etc. The black finish is unobtrusive in my pocket at work, The blade is a slightly more malleable so it is easy to sharpen and less worrying if you drop it or slip when in use. Which has made me realise that this is the best all round knife to flick open and own. And For £50 quid if you loose it or break it (which I doubt )it's a shame but buy another one from HH, and have it the next day.

    Excellent tool!

My first Spyderco! I have to say, having only owned it for 6 hours, I'm already mightily impressed! Excellently presented in a nice looking padded box and with a welcoming leaflet from Spyderco,, it helped make the unboxing a little special for a blade enthusiast. It looks superb and well built and feels great in your hand. The deployment of the blade is very smooth and easy with the spidey hole, and it locks up nicely. The pocket clip is nice and being ambidextrous, tip up or tip down carry, it will suit everyone. The G10 scales feel nice, with just the right amount of grip, and all the edges are nicely chamfered. The hardware all sits flush and look good. I like the open pillar design, and the liners have been milled making it a nice weight. This knife slices like an absolute champ! It was employed in slicing some tomatoes to go with my lunch and it made effortless work of them with nice fine slices. I like to use my knives in everyday roles, such as in the kitchen, or opening mail etc, so can see this replacing my Rat 1 for a little while. It will certainly be going with me on my next camping trip! Highly recommend to anyone!

    Great

The folder itself is all you would expect from a Spyderco. Razor sharp with no blade play. This was my first Spyderco but surely not my last. Heinnie Haynes is in itself another wonder. I ordered this folder on Friday afternoon and got it in Portugal where I live on Monday morning. Absolutely outstanding service. The only thing with I was slightly disappointed, but it was a matter of timing, was that today, 4 days after I bought the tenacious, it's 4 euros cheaper. But like I said my bad luck and nothing else.

    Absolutely bloody fantastic.

Ive had a few spydercos from all 3 factories. In my experiemce the fit and finish of the tenacious is better than the US made spydercos. Mine came with 0 faults. Blade perfectly centered, no play, smooth as glass and a strong lockup. The blade is the perfect size, the ergonomics are fantastic and the deployment is fast and easy. The blade steel is a great user steel, it doesn't hold an edge as long as something like s30v, but it is much much easier to resharpen, especially in the field. If you're looking for a hard use, no bollocks knife then get this. Great value and one hell of a user. Cannot reccomend it enough. You'll be hooked the moment you take it out of the box

A great budget option that punches above its price point

fantastic knife with all the features of a more expensive Spyderco for a fraction of the cost. This is a great way to see if you like Spydercos without breaking the bank. For your money you get a good sized knife with an excellent heat treat, keeps and edge very well and is a one handed opener. It's a no brainer - buy one! Particularly handy for general fishing and. Oating duties since the stainless resist the salt water and it can be so easily opened one handed.
