The Spyderco Diamond Sharpmaker Rods are steel triangles blanketed in a bonding agent then covered in diamond particles. Diamond hard abrasives are recommended when you wish to remove stock, for restoration purposes and to aggressively re-shape, re-bevel and re-profile a cutting edge. 7" X 0.5" (178mm X 13mm)

These rods were a great purchase, my Nan wanted her old kitchen knives sharpening and the edges were pretty bad to say the least, the medium/fine rods only served to polish the side of the blade rather than sharpening the knife to any real degree. 10 passes with the diamond stones made more difference than 100 passes with the mild stones, and my Nans knives are now sharp enough to shave with. If you have a sharpmaker and neglected knives, these are a must-buy.
Absolutely brilliant addition to the Sharpmaker. Makes short work of hard supersteels and moderate reprofiling.
