Spyderco’s iconic Police model was developed in the 1980’s in response to demand from law enforcement officers for a slim, easy-to-carry folder that offered serious cutting performance. An instant classic, it is still one of our most popular designs, with literally thousands in daily service around the globe.
The original Police model features solid stainless steel handles with a handsome satin finish and chamfered edges for maximum comfort during use. Available with your choice of a plain, SpyderEdge, or combination edge, its blade is hollow-ground from VG-10 stainless steel and features a classic swedge at the point. It now has a four-position hourglass clip that supports fully ambidextrous left- and right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry.

Beautiful knife with a fantastic blade profile hollow ground VG-10 steel is easy to sharpen and holds an edge through hard use. Exceptional resistance to stains or rust due to the high carbon content. Lovely solid feel when opening and closing one of Spiderco’s first designs from the 1980’s as an easy carry for Police Officers. A real classic can’t rate it highly enough
I've been a big fan of Spydeco knives for over 15 years and of all the spydies I own, the Police in SS is the sexiest of all. That long pointed blade is the perfect shape, the long handle which is comfortable to hold, has some nice weight to it too. its a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but that doesnt bother me. Its more for show than for use....that's why i have multiple Enduras. hehe. I wouldnt mind a few more in my collection. just waiting for the all black one to be available again.
What a work of art. Love looking and touching it. Expensive when compared with Endura stainless which has more features (4 way clip(as opposed to right hand clip down on the police)and lanyard hole(as opposed to none in the police). Having said all that the Police is far more streamlined and visually appealing. Obviously Spyderco haven't been able to change much with the police since it was introduced decades ago. Could it be that the Police was practically perfect and consequently Spyderco's policy of continued improvement doesn't apply to this model..
This knife is excellent quality. Super sharp, very high quality steel. I love the stainless handle, although fingerprints are obviously an issue. Nice long overall length and easy fast opening/locking blade. Good weight without being too heavy feeling. Highly recommended.
When Spyderco first opened its doors, this was one of their original Clipit designs and I've had mine since that time. I knew I couldn't afford it at the time, but had to have it anyway, so I did. And I've never regretted it for one second. Truly ledgendary knife of outstanding quality and build. Go on... you know you want to.
