Incorporating feedback from personnel worldwide the Spyderco Military Knife is an all-around tactical cutting tool that accommodates heavy use in an efficient design. The rugged scales are formed of premium G-10 to optimize temperature chemical and impact resistance, eliminating the need for steel liners fill and contributing to an overall slim profile. A minimal spacer separates the scales to permit quick cleaning, and a stepped lanyard hole helps keep the back end of the knife rigid. Expanded curves at both the front and rear of the handle prevent slipping during assertive cutting tasks, while machine notching at the thumb rest, finger choil and linerlock promote positive purchase. Also part of the unique handle design, the Walker Linerlock is recessed into the scales to enhance the thin profile. At the same time, the Linerlock is conspicuous and easily accessible to facilitate operation while wearing gloves and to allow for visual inspection.

The modified point blade incorporates a forward belly and flat these together provide for powerful and reliable cutting. The blade is available in the production premiere "powdered metal" CPM S30V, boasts superior toughness and wear resistance. The Mil Knife also includes the Spyderco Trademark Round Hole in the blade (the hole is enlarged slightly in diameter for easy one-hand is opening while wearing gloves) and the stainless pocket clip (the clip is mounted around the pivot pin such that the pin is still accessible). Noticeably thinner and more comfortable to carry than most large tactical Knives, this efficient piece serves as a dependable tool.

    Amazing

Posted by Christopher on 29th Sep 2016

This is the second time at least that I've bought one of these and they have always been of a high , consistent quality. The latest one I just bought is the plain edged blacked out version. It's sheer perfection. I rarely find this in production knives - it's lock up is superb- totally free of any movement in any direction. The grind is even, accurate and razor sharp , and I mean hair popping insanely sharp! The blade centring is perfect and deployment out of the box is glassy smooth. I have always been impressed with the liner lock on this knife, it looks slight but do not underestimate it, it's very positive in its locking and easy to disengage. I've not used the new one jet but from previous experience with the blade characteristics it's a great slicer, with superb penetration. The needle point allows for detailed work and the way that the hand to blade angle works it automatically presents the edge belly first when cutting horizontally on a surface making it also very good at food prep. The flat grind makes it up there with the best slicers I've ever used and I find the added blade length makes it that little bit more useful than the the para 2 which I do also like but it doesn't do it as much for me as this knife. One of their older designs that remains timeless in my opinion. The jimping is perfectly placed and aggressive enough to work well without being over the top or useless as some of the more cosmetics efforts out there. Essentially I think this is a big, useful folding knife capable of anything you should realistically expect a folding knife to do. Some critics are wary of the top strength on this but I would say if you break it you were probably abusing it. This paired with a medium to large fixed blade should see you pretty well squared away for most tasks I think. I would recommend this knife all day long. It's brilliant

    God I love spydies

    Posted by Grant.e on 15th Apr 2016

Just got my 2nd military, this one plain satin finish, love this knife, love spydies. Somehow this is a lot sharper than the coated one? Not sure if the black made a difference, can't really see how and that came very sharp, this one though a bit more. Anyway really good knife, got to be, very rare I duplicate.. Thanx all..

    AN EASY 5 STARS !!

    Posted by GRANT.E on 10th Mar 2016

Bit like TONY here, id pondered over this knife for ages, not so much the price ,more the handle size, and the steel used ..not that i have a problem with CPM S30V its actually one of my favourite steels[Holds a razor sharp edge well and sharpens up easy] But i have few knives in this steel and like to try new ones. Should have got ages ago, after all S30V is better than some of the newer steels as an all rounder, and you know pretty much what you are getting when you order a SPYDERCO anyway. Received mine today, all black and plain blade,BEAUTIFUL!! Handles don't feel oversized at all, typical razor sharp blade, all solid and opening quite smooth[i know it will get a lot quicker],this is a very nice knife indeed. Ive just received the BENCHMADE CONTEGO in black along with the military and what a pair of beauties...A VERY NICE DELIVERY SESSION. Anybody out there pondering over this knife,DONT,get one I'm sure you will be more than happy in whatever blade/handle colour.THANX H.H FOR YOUR USUAL SPEEDY SERVICE,AND A SPECIAL THANX TO NICK..Oh and good look with the move,Id love to visit the shop it would be like my lady in a JEWELLERS!!!

    Outstanding

Posted by Paul on 10th Aug 2014

Initially, I was sceptical about splashing out around £150 for a knife, but I took the plunge and I'm glad I did. I went for the black part-serrated options. The blade, both the plain and serrated parts, were razor sharp OTB. The point is like a needle. The handle is definitely non-slip and nicely contoured, even though I don't have large hands. The gimping on the choil and spine add further non-slip safeguards. There is no play in the blade when open and the lock seems very, very secure. It's a nice weight in the hand and in the pocket. It's a shame there aren't more options with clip orientation, but I tend to carry it loose in a pocket anyway. It looks terrifying, and opens with a quick flick of the wrist and a satisfying click. Closing it is simple and safe and the action is very smooth. This is the highest quality knife I own, and the one I would keep if I had to choose. A great product and fantastic service from HH as always.

    Long to find

Posted by Tony on 30th Jan 2014

I have taken ages deciding to buy one of these knives and wished I had bought it a long time ago. From a functional stand point it is a beast of a knife, but is excellent. High quality in all aspects. Sharp out the box but sharper still now I have smoothed the factory grind. Testing it was fun and it proved to take everything I threw at it. Not a knife for the faint hearted but very dependable. I seriously recommend it as a back up knife in any hard situations.

    Wow! It's big

Posted by AJ on 31st May 2013

I've had a lot of Spydies over the years and thought it well overdue to try a Military. The first thing I thought is Wow! This is a seriously large folder. The CPMS30V blade is razor sharp out of the box. Opens easily with a push of the thumb. It's very light for its size. If you have small hands maybe try the Paramilitary instead. The handle on the Military is purposely oversized (longer than usual) for use with gloves. I'm a bit worried the tip is so fine (needle sharp) but you don't tend to hear of many breakages. Overall very Im impressed. Get one!

    Ultimate knife

    Posted by Sup3rSaiy3n on 2nd Apr 2013

This knife is a masterpiece. Conceived in the 90s the design, ergonomics and aesthetics are leagues apart from the competition. You have to feel this knife in person to appreciate the effort gone into making it. The knife is very sharp and holds its edge for a long time and is also surprisingly light weight for its size. Make the investment because you get more than you pay for with this classic. Watch my full review here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8BiywU2-6A

    Super good knife

Posted by Jia on 25th Apr 2011

This knife lives up to all the positive reviews. Very tight manufacturing tolerance. Flat and light, Military is a big folder that does not take much space, neither will it weight you down. After a complete disassembly, I can confirm that all details have been taken care of. This is as good as a production knife can go. Craftsmanship wise, I will consider Military as a custom knife. PS. Small screws are Torx 6, the big pivot is Torx 15.
