When Spyderco introduced the first Sprint Run Shaman combining the traditional look of brown canvas Micarta scales and CPM CRU-WEAR blade steel, they were overwhelmed by the response. Later dubbed “CruCarta,” this distinctive pairing of old-school, high-performance materials became an instant classic. To ensure they could meet customer demand when Spyderco applied the “CruCarta” treatment to other models, they decided to make them full-line products, not limited editions. They began with the Para Military 2 and are now proud to add four more USA-made models to this elite family. All feature skeletonized full stainless steel liners, slim brown canvas Micarta scales, and CPM CRU-WEAR tool steel blades that offer an outstanding balance of edge retention and toughness. The scales of all these knives are sanded smooth but left unpolished, so they will naturally patina with age and handling to develop their own unique character.
