Spyderco Grasshopper 18

Sharp and well finished but the handle didn,t suit my medium size hand. Gave it to a friend who collects as new boxed knives and that,s the best place for it as far as I,m concerned. For the same price you can buy both the Ruike S11 and a Roughrider 221 whiich are excellent.

To be very honest, I am disappointed with the grasshopper. Yes, I knew it was a small knife, but I expected more for the price. Less sharp edges on the finish would have been nice too. For almost the same money, and mainly less, I could by a Boker Tech Tool of far superior quality. If the rest of the range is similarly overpriced, maybe I should just overlook this brand altogether?

Wanted a knife to keep on van keys in case I needed a seat belt cutter. Don't really trust the concealed blade type. This is excellent, razor sharp, except with fat fingers, single handed opening is a bit iffy. Solution.... put a zip tie through the blade hole. Easy peasy one hander.......Usual fast delivery !!

I bought this to replace my Buck 351 with a very small UK legal knife. I don't carry large or aggressive knives out of the house but like a little handy blade for cutting boxes and string etc. This could not be more perfect as a replacement for my little Buck that came originally part of a presentation box. The 351 is a tiny lock blade and this Grasshopper is the only thing I could ever image replacing it. It's beautifully milled, smooth, sharp, small and pocket friendly. If you get one very small UK legal knife, get this.

This is a great little knife, very sharp out of the box, and even the box is high quality, I have other spiderco knives all much larger and they can all be opened with one hand, not so this one, it is just too small to get any leverage with your thumb. But that doesn't matter it is easy enough to open with two hands. Strong enough for jobs larger than it's size suggests. Hennie's service is of course second to none and I have been a customer for years.

The build quality of the knife is spot on, such at bargain at the price, delivery is also cheap and super quick! A* company and as the great Arnie once said I'll be back! :D

Just what I wanted, small, sharp and useful.

I've had one of these jangling about on my keyring for years now, next to a Leatherman Micra, and the handle has acquired a sort of stonewash finish as opposed to the original brushed steel look, but it's not displeasing. The blade and slip joint are still perfect, and I use this knife often enough for everyday tasks to make carrying it around seem worthwhile. I prefer the Grasshopper to the Bug or Honeybee, which both seem too small to be useful, whereas the Grasshopper is a small but useful size, and yes, it looks like a real knife because it is one, so if you're nervous about frightening people by whipping it out in public, you should get a small Victorinox or similar. But if you feel like you need a more serious but still UK-friendly EDC carry, the Grasshopper is a very good option.

Simple knife. Big and comfortable enough to use as an EDC. Typical Spyderco shaving sharp edge that holds well and sharpens well. The box it comes in even makes a nice little display. No complaints.
