In 1990 Spyderco shook things up by introducing two knives, the Delica and Endura. First of their kind on the market, both folders opened up the knife market to lightweight performance, one-hand open pocketknives that just about everyone could afford. They settled as Spydercos top two bestsellers and their improvement hasnt slowed since. Refinement has been so ongoing and continual Spyderco tagged the updating/upgrading process with the term CQI- Constant Quality Improvement. During the Endura and Delicas CQI journey Spyderco tweaked ergonomics, refined blade steels and fine-tuned their performance countless times. They are an evolutionary work in progress and the next level is here with the new Endura 4 and Delica 4. Both models now have screw construction making cleaning and adjusting easier. The fiberglass reinforced nylon handles come molded with Bi-Directional Texturing for preferred traction and improved ergonomics. Inside the handle dual skeletonized stainless steel liners make the knife stronger without adding weight and make an anchor for all external and internal components to attach through adding sturdiness and rigidity. Their VG-10 blades are flat saber-ground with a stronger tip and larger 13mm opening hole. Added to the blades spine is slip resistant jimping. Phosphor bronze bushings smooth out the open/close action and the clip is upgraded to a four-way tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed clip.

    My favourite blade

Posted by Merv on 13th Oct 2016

This has become my go to knife. Sadly not UK legal carry (the urban lightweight comes with me everywhere) but the Endura 4 frn is a perfect fit for me. Impeccable quality as always from Spyderco. Great size in hand and rock solid lock-up. The frn scales are grippy and keep the knife slim. Buy one.

    Endura 4 FFG Blue

Posted by daniel on 7th Jul 2011

I got the full flat ground version of this from Heinnie, had to be ordered specially but was well worth the very short wait. Its a rock solid knife, blade sounds wonderful when it snaps into place and once locked its going nowhere. The handle grip provides loads of traction and fits the hand perfectly. The full flat ground blade is well worth the extra expense, the flat grind makes it look so different it almost feels like the knife needs to have a name of its own. Cant recommend this knife enough, my new pride and joy. Thanks Heinnie for being able to get me this, youre legends!!

endura 4 plain edge vg10 frn

Posted by Marc on 13th Jul 2010

The Endura 4 is considerably larger than a UKPK or Delica. I see the Endura as an excellent fishing/camping knife. The long blade makes the knife an excellent food prep knife. The edge has been very neatly set and is acceptably sharp, I like to hone my knives myself to get them very sharp, vg10 blade steel is rather good for this. Lock up seems solid, handle is comfy and strong, black clip looks smart. Heinnie delivered as quickly as possible again. Their price was spot on, all inc.

    All that is Spyderco.

The Endura 4 has a (large) blade for pocket-folder which comes scary-sharp right out of the box. Extremely light, slim profile, superb pocket clip, smooth opening and a solid lock all adds up to a great allround-folder. Together with the Delica this is the knife that made Spyderco. I highly recommend it.
