In 1990, Spyderco shook things up by introducing two knives, the Delica and Endura. As the first of their kind on the market, these folders opened up the knife market to lightweight, high-performance, one-hand open pocketknives that just about everyone could afford. They quickly became Spyderco's top two bestsellers, and their improvement has continued ever since. This ongoing process of enhancement, known as CQI (Constant Quality Improvement), has seen numerous updates to the Delica and Endura over the years.
Spyderco has continuously tweaked ergonomics, refined blade steels, and fine-tuned performance. This evolutionary journey has now reached the next level with the Endura 4 and Delica 4. Both models feature screw construction for easier cleaning and adjustments. The fiberglass-reinforced nylon handles are molded with Bi-Directional Texturing for enhanced traction and improved ergonomics. Inside the handle, dual skeletonized stainless steel liners add strength without increasing weight, serving as an anchor for all external and internal components, boosting sturdiness and rigidity.
The VG-10 blades are flat saber-ground, offering a stronger tip and a larger 13mm opening hole for ease of use. The blade’s spine features slip-resistant jimping for added control. Phosphor bronze bushings ensure smooth open/close action, while the upgraded clip offers a four-way configuration—tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed—for versatile carry options.
