The Spyderco Dragonfly has always represented an extraordinary blend of compact size and full-service cutting performance. Now that performance takes another quantum leap forward with the addition of a Wharncliffe blade profile. The blade of choice of many savvy knife users, the Wharncliffe’s perfectly straight cutting edge offers extreme cutting power near the heel and scalpel-like precision at the tip—especially when combined with a low-friction, full-flat grind.

All other features of this knife are consistent with the best-selling Dragonfly 2, including a lightweight, injection molded FRN handle, high-traction Bi-Directional Texturing™, a sturdy back lock mechanism, and a reversible deep-pocket wire clip.

    Right look for the workplace

Posted by Dan Sidey on 19th Oct 2021

I need a light, strong, medium-small locking knife to cut away shrink wrap when I'm delivering food to schools and hospitals off the back of the lorry. So whichever knife I use it's going to be seen by Dinner ladies and kitchen assistants and care assistants and maybe the odd school teacher and sometimes other members of the public. Obviously it's for a proper work purpose and that's totally obvious so nobody ever complains or looks funny but still it has to look right, not too big, not too pointy, not too flashy etc. etc. So this little knife fits the bill perfectly. The blade shape is very obviously simply for cutting and that's what it does...perfectly. It's really a great little utilitarian knife which nobody can complain about. I got the wharncliffe version because a straight edge is all I need sometimes and the curve on the spine means it doesn't look too pointy, although it actually is pointy - perfect for scoring lines on material to be cut for example but still looks "not pointy" when used in a public space at work. Don't bother with the manbug or ladybug unless you want ultra tiny and light. I have a ladybug for the same purpose at work and it's tiny and light and great but really I'd rather have paid a bit extra and had one of these in the first place.
