    Realistic tool for the money.

Posted by Leigh on 6th Jan 2019

First point to make is that this tool is small, so anyone expecting full sized tool performance is going to be disappointed. Having said that: This tool very nicely fills the niche between a mini tool like the PS4 and a full sized Multitool, but you need to be realistic in your expectations. So: Pliers: Very good. Main blade: Shaving sharp out of the box. Can opener: works. Not the best but useable. Bottle opener: As above. Philips screwdriver: Works well. Jeweller's screwdriver: I wear glasses so this is a godsend. Awl: It will punch holes, which is all I really need it to do. Serrated blade. It will cut blue nylon rope, etc quite happily. Scissors: They work. Spring is very strong. Line cutter: let's be realistic here. It's good for fishing line & micro cord.

    Lilliputian multi tool

Posted by Mick on 4th Jan 2019

Bought to replace a Leatherman CX as an edc. Out of the box I like the finish of the item, and the size is amazing with the amount of tools/functions provided. However I don't like the way the blades/tools deploy because the middle items have no thumb stud to use to open them , you have to open the outer tools to get to the inner ones. I haven't tried the can opener yet as I've read some reviews that say it has poor functionality and the bit holder between the closed plier head will require a separate carry of bits to fit it, which will then need some sort of pouch, so it defeats the all in one mini tool concept if you require anything other than a mini flat head and a small phillips driver. I also agree with the initial review that the protractor function is really a non starter as the markings need a magnifying glass to use them. On the plus side it fits in my pocket well as it;'s so small. It fits in the hand well despite the size and the majority of the blades and tools provided on ity will be all most people need. The multi tool itself opens easily as do all the included blades/tools. I'm very happy with it despite some of my niggles.

Good pocket multi-tool - but not perfect

Posted by Dave L on 9th Nov 2018

At first glance, I only received the tool today, the SOG Powerpint appears to be well made and all the tools move freely. However, there are a few niggles that reduce my rating of the tool: * the belt clip is slightly too short to fit a 1.1/4" belt * the markings for the protractor are so small that a magnifying glass is need to read them * the blade tip for the small screwdriver is not quite perpendicular to the shaft If these issues were resolved it would be a great tool.
