    Solid & reliable

Posted by Stretch on 6th Jul 2014

I've got two. I travel and sometimes an OD Green bag isn't what the locals want to see so use the black one instead. I've used both for travel round the world. They are my go to carry ons. I never fill them fully but pack loose and you can get huge amount in that would normally get you stopped at the ticket desk. Filled loose you can squeeze them into any nook and cranny in the overhead lockers. Need more gear? I fill the other one up and put it in the hold then skip out the airport carrying one up front and one on the back. The belt is dog toffee, I cut both off. After years of wear the inner layer of film is peeling but no drama Definitely worth it.

robust but pricey and some components not great

Posted by KT on 2nd Sep 2012

Used hard regularly for past 6 years or so, taken a battering, all pu film lining in top main compartment peeled, few holes but ripstop works= put hole in years ago an it's not grown larger. Pros: x2 sewn-in rain covers in base pocket stood up to major downpours. Light rainproof w'out using covers, lets less in than my miltec molle pack (similar material just thicker). Carried several stone in it on v.regular basis an structurally sound, mesh worn on back of straps but the load bearing bits & joins are fine + straps still stiff & stay spread with no dig in. Cons: weight, belt is useless and high, base of my ribs (I'm 6'4"), fittings = plastic toggles + rain cover hooks + strap snap buckles not robust and crack v.easy. Cord on zips bit short an have plastic end cap which break easy (can DIY lanyards with 550 for few £). Water tube hole & pocket inside main compartment not very accessible, poor position of o-rings , lack of molle straps & webbing loops
