Savotta Askare Hip Pack Black

“Askare” is Finnish for “task” or “chore,” and the Savotta Askare Hip Pack lives up to the name. Originally designed for sniper teams, it has evolved into a highly versatile general-purpose bag. With a generous seven-litre capacity and multiple external attachment points, it adapts easily to a wide range of uses beyond its military roots.

Inside, the Askare offers flexible organisation with elastic webbing loops, flat compartments, tie-down points, and a loop surface for hook-backed organisers. The rear wall features two rows of elastic loops in varying sizes, while the front includes flat pockets and additional tie-downs. A large rear compartment with a removable foam pad doubles as storage for the waist strap or as a pass-through for belt or hip carry.

Externally, PALS webbing and multiple attachment loops allow you to expand capacity with pouches or secure extra gear using cord. The Askare is most comfortably worn on the lower back or as a sling, with stable belt support. It can also be attached to a larger backpack for longer journeys, then quickly deployed as a standalone bag when needed.
