Description

The Ruike P865 is a compact and lightweight folding knife, in which elegance as well as functionality is valued. Made of 14C28N stainless steel, its stylish straight blade with a reverse tanto form, is a real crowd pleaser.

The edge holding ability and resistance to corrosion, also means its a great solution to many practical problems particularly for delicate work. Its G10 handle lined inside with a stainless steel liner, is slightly recurved to give the user a comfortable and firm grip.

    Quality Design

I've had this a few years and it has survived hard use very well. The small thumbstud is cut like jewellery which makes it grippy, and there is a bit of weight and length to the blade so a reasonably firm push more forward than outward makes for very fast opening and locking. This is why I often pick it up for a day's work ahead, it's one handed operation is so handy, the lock is secure, and the blade holds a great edge. On really hard use there is some slight twist in the handle which has been harmless, the blade still centres perfectly and nothing has ever got jammed in the lock either. Dropped on the floor the blade can fly half open, and I have to remember not to carry it anywhere, it's definitely not legal.

Open box and found blade way off centre, have no idear what they were thinking when they put the thumb stud so close to the handle.have had to remove a small peace to be able to open it.......not impressed

    Nice to look at, but...

The knife looks great and when opened handles nicely. But a major issue for me is that, out of the box, it's impossible to open one-handed just using the thumb stud, as the blade is pretty securely stuck in place. One must use their other hand to pull at the very end of the blade to get it out, and during the rotation there is some soft noise from the hinge when the insides are rubbing against each other. So it seems like there is no point in having a thumb stud at all, since pushing against it does nothing. Perhaps it'll get smoother with time but it remains to be seen. On a positive note, everything is machined beautifully, the blade is centered perfectly and -most- of the blade is perfectly sharp. The G10 scales feel smooth whilst being practically grippy, which is great.

    Don't overlook this one!

Excellent built quality and ergonomics. I'm not always a big fan of slim pocket folders, but this might be the exception to the rule. Slim and precise, inspires confidence in hand. My only petty gripe is that the thumb stud and receiving notch is right hand only. We lefties will just have to cope! Thanks to all at HH.
