But unfortunately 7 seconds after I opened it my wife confiscated it under the 12 week rule (anything sharp I buy in the 12 weeks before Christmas will be held hostage as my presents).

First off, the usual excellent service from Heinnie. As for the knife, well, it is what it is. It’s big, heavy and somewhat cheap-looking, but fun. Mine has a very poor point - not sharp and seemingly missing the very tip. I ground it down some, and sharpened it, but it does look a little less than lovely now. The sheath seems sturdy, but the metal press stud popper is a bit of an issue. The sheath has a snug fit and the metal part of the popper on the inside is bare, and scratches the blade every time you take it out or put it in. Easy to solve with some masking tape or similar, but a shame. So, it’s fun to own, but if it was any more than £40 I’d have given it 3 stars max and probably sent it back. For the money, it’s fine.
Very nice Bowie for the money, fit and finish is very good, handle and fittings very good, nice heavy blade and well balanced. Looks and feels a a lot more expensive knife than it is
You cannot go wrong for the money
Knife arrived this morning, overall quality poor, blade isn't straight where it leaves the handle. Blade thins by 1.3mm where it meets the handle. There is also three other point on the blade where poor attention to the manufacture of the blade. I know it's a cheep knife but I would still expect attention to detail. I don't very often write a review but I think anyone thinking of buying this particular knife needs to be aware that there are better knives available at not much more cost on Heinnie Haynes.
No wonder this knife is called The Rough Rider, who in their right mind would want to sit on that?
