When it arrived I was surprised at how big it actually was. A nice solidly built piece of kit. Love the finish , it looks like a good old fashioned knife. Definitely good vfm and it will form a regular part of my regularly used Rough Riders. Anyone looking at these, get one.
Knife arrived sharp at the door, couldn't fault anything there, shaved hair. After a quick wip on the strop it popped. strong snap on sheepsfoot and spey blade, the main blade has the same snap as a sak. Comfortable handle, nice fit and finnish, really a nice knife.
I would normally wait a few weeks before doing a review on any knife I buy, I like to carry it and use it first, that said as soon has I got this old yellow , I knew I liked it. It was just like the one my grandad use to use. I love it! I can honestly say it's alot of knife for your money. I would give a good five out of five. Even if it's just for your collection.
I had some gaps to fill in my display cabinets so i thought i would take a chance on some Rough Riders and i was not disappointed , the quality was far better than expected . Not like the cheap pocket knives i had as a boy in the 50s/60s . These are solid functional knives . Great service from heinnie again thanks .
Rock solid EDC work knife that's as large as UK law permits.
I have a small Buck stockman with 420J2 blades that has been my daily carry for a couple of years. I really like the stockman pattern and the toughness of the Buck (although I am not mad about that steel) and I fancied trying a larger stockman, so I decided to take a chance on these cheap Rough Rider knives. Very glad I did. My parcel arrived today and my first impression is that this is a hell of a lot of knife for the money. All the blades were shaving sharp out of the box and the fit and finish is generally very good. One of the back springs sits a tiny bit low when the knife is closed and there is a minute amount of blade rub when opening the cley, but neither of these are issues that will affect the utility of the knife and I am quite happy to forgive them when I remember that we are talking about a knife that only costs £10. It's incredible that they can produce this for that price. It doesn't feel quite as solid as my Buck (thinner blades for example) but it looks as though it should stand up to sensible use for at least a few years and maybe much longer. Provided it has acceptable edge retention and responds well to sharpening then it should make a very nice every day user. In conclusion, this knife is a bargain that is streets ahead of the kind of cheap pocket knives I had as a kid, which I feared it might resemble. Even if it doesn't last forever, that incredible price means you won't have to baby it or shed a tear if you lose it. Just use it and enjoy it! I have a feeling this won't be my last Rough Rider.
Can't tell you how pleased I am wth this knife. It's as good as my Case and cost less than a third of the price. It's stunningly good looking and very useable straight out of the box. Nice size and weight. Build quality is faultless. If this was made in Sheffield you wouldn't get this for much under £60. Very, very pleased. Thank you HH. Great service
Possibly the best vfm knife ever. Lovely build and finish. I hate yellow, but this is a pale kind of pastel yellow which is very inoffensive. My most "go to" edc out of all my many knives.
