    Great stuff

Posted by Thomas on 10th Jul 2015

I bought the two slabs to put a handle on one the RR CS2 kits, and found with careful cutting you need only use one, leaving enough for another kit, great value! However one thing that should be addressed, is nowhere does it warn you of the hazardous nature of the material when sanding grinding etc. (it should go without saying, but on the knife making forums this stuff is warned about over and over and over again). It is made from fibreglass impregnated cloth and when sanded created fine fibres in vast quantities.... which are hazardous to breathe in, however, it's the one downside to this fantastic material. The finish you can achieve is fantastic and the handle scales look great, the black and red really looked the business. There are multiple ways to achieve a great look, but I found very fine emery cloth, and a bit of oil, gave it a satin sheen and decent grip. Great for my fishing knife.
