Rough Ryder Brown Stag Bone Large Stockman 18

Just received the large stockman from HH and have to sayfirstly , the usual excellent customer service from Heinnies , fast and efficient . Now the knife , thought Id go for this for its slightly larger (but not overly large) size ,4 1/2" in length closed exactly which is still a nice compact size to carry on a belt pouch or inside a backpack . The one I received was damm near perfect , well centred straight blades , no gaps between scales and liners , perfect transition from scales to bolsters and absolutely gorgeous brown stag bone scales which replicate real stag bone very well . This is a three blade stockman ( Clip , Spey and Lambsfoot ) with all three blades fitting really well together with good half stops and snap action . The blades themselves came really sharp which is great and the knife in general has enough heft to it to ooze quality . Like many other knife users / collectors I am stll amazed that Rough ryder can turn these quality made slipjoints out for such a reasonable price . I think this particular one deserves a nice soft leather slip to hold it in .

This was delivered earlier this week and quite surprised me when I actually had it in my hand. It's nice and heavy with a nice presence too. I put it in my pocket and walked into the kitchen and when the missus saw the bulge in my jeans she very nearly cancelled bingo. I've got a few large stockman knives and this one is as good as any of them. If you are familiar with the Colt Large Stockman then this one is comparable. Comes with a nice edge on each of the blades and the bone scales are lovely. I hope Rough Rider do a white antler or white bone version. This is a great knife and I'm well pleased, 5 stars

I bought this knife several months ago now and its been used for odd jobs. The blades come extremely sharp and very easy to open. They are centred well and will not touch the sides of the knife like some with 3 blades. The handles are well secured and seem quite flush with the bolsters. You may feel a few pointy edges on the bone handle but its natural bone and thats how it is. The blades are nicely polished and cut through material extremely well. I own many RR knives and this is very well made for the money. Just buy it you will not regret it. By the way. The chap at HH who sorts out mh orders is fantastic. He is efficient and polite. What a company. I run a company hope to be as efficient. Thanks HH

This Rough Rider is massive - the biggest stockman that I own. Too big for the pocket, but a great one for the collection. Fit and finish is spot on and all blades are SHARP. Excellent value. Heinnie Haynes to be praised again for their service and lighting quick delivery !!!
