Great blanks, well made. A bit of preparation and they’ll be ready to be fitted with antler and black walnut and they’ll look great. Great value and lightning fast dispatch and delivery. I’ll definitely buy more when I’ve finished the project with these.

These are actually throwing knives, there is a youtube page which shows the knives being used. I bought a set and did some alterations to the larger one and now have a usable knife.

I bought these to practice on and for that you can't go wrong for the price. Surprisingly light weight but then, I don't think these are intended for hard use! The largest size blade is too big and bulky to be useful anyway but it will make an impressive finished knife. The two smaller ones are more useful sizes. The tangs on all three will need grinding to remove the stupid point that sticks out exactly where your middle finger wraps around the tang. They feel too light to stand up to everyday use but good for the price as it gives you three blanks to practice your skills on.

As other people have said, this is not the greatest steel ... but you get three blades for under £14, and they will take an decent edge. Great way to start, as you’re not going to feel bad about messing up on the grind on a £4.65 blade. Well worth it! Will be buying another set.

These were the first blanks I ever bought (Thank you Hennie Haynes) and I think they're great. I did get a little over zealous with the grinder on the smallest one and turned it into something that looked like a prison shank but I was able to learn a lot about what to do and what not to do for a great price. I think these are perfect for beginners and am happy to have the finished products on my wall.

I've upgraded my opinion of these blades since my April review of the smallest. I've now got a set of 3 excellent kitchen knives which rival any we've owned over the last 40 years. I've enjoyed every minute of the learning process & have made a matched set of knives using salvaged English, American & European Oak with pins & lanyard pins made from aluminium, brass , copper, SS & even wooden dowels with pins through the centre. Cutting, shaping & fitting the scales was great fun & I even put blue plastic liners on the mid-sized blade with filework along the spine. I also made a knifeblock by gluing together various offcuts of scrap wood. This learning project turned out so well that I've just bought another set of these. It IS possible to put a good edge on these by doing a slow. Careful freehand grind on a belt sander. The only drawback to these blades is they don't hold a good edge for very long but that is true of most knife sets under £50. To get a 3 knife set as unusual looking as these would set you back hundreds of pounds & I can't recommend these highly enough at only £12 for the 3. Even with the other materials required plus electricity this set cost under £35. Several people have seen them & been fascinated by their appearance & the fact that they are uniique. Apologies for the verbosity but I really am over the Moon with these blades - try some yourself & see!

These blades r hard to sharpen!!! Hope they will hold an edge!? Good value for £10. Also ordered at 1520 and were delivered b 4 noon the next day!!!!! Great service!!!!!
