I Have quite a few Rough Rider knives and all have been good quality. However the quality of this one is superb. Bought on an impulse and didn't realise it was a lock knife. If this wa non locking it would be a perfect EDC in the uk. Just unbelievable at this price . Razor sharp out of the box just a shame that I cant carry it every where I go. Please make a non locking version asap
Half the reason I purchased this knife is because of the lovey looking wooden scales. but upon opening it must admit I was rather diisappointed The scales are actualy featureless flat black devoid of any detail or wood-grain effect, & is nothing like the lovely brown & black wood grain shown in the photo, I'm sure that the scales ARE actually made of wood, but they look the same as if they were made from black resin with a matte laquer finish Its only a cheap knife, & the postage will cost nearly half the price of the knife, so Im going to keep it. To be clear, this is a good knife for the price, & there are no complaints about the build quality which is good, or the blade which is fairly sharp. The Opening & closing of the blade is just right - nice & firm without any lateral movement or being too tight, &o If you want a knife like this with ordinary looking black scales then this is a good buy, However if you want a knife with nice wooden scales like in the photo, then look elsewhere.
Great little knife for the money. I use it for lots of little cutting jobs every day from paring fruit to cutting open boxes. Good fit and finish and comfortable to hold. Reasonably sharp out of the box. Similar to an Opinel in it's uses but I prefer the look of the RR work knife
Cant fault it atr all for the price, excellent EDC (if you can) f and F brilliant considering this is made for pennies, how do they do it. If you don't believe me buy one you will be very surprised what you get for your buck
The pins ,rivits stick out I cut myself getting it out of the box ,I could send it back as heinnie Hayes after sales service is excellent but I will just try to file them down
This is actually not a bad little work knife, looks good too. For me, it'd be more versatile without the lock.
Far better than it has any right to be at the price, solid nice if not perfect ( but it is only £11 after all) fit and finish. Perfectly good for the majority of tasks anyone would ask a folder of this size to do, and if you lose it it's not going to cause any major upset, just get another.
