The blade of the Rockstead Shin is convex on both sides in the
tradition of the highly regarded, famous Japanese
sword. This shape is both sharp and strong, and can
still slice through paper even after the heavy duty work
like 1000 cuts of a hemp rope. Blade steel and edge
technology has never been so advanced.
The blade is ZDP189 clad by VG10 stainless steel which, once
formed into it's formidable shape, is then polished by
hand using just polish and denim until the bottom half
of the blade is like a mirror. The handle is made using
Aluminium (A6063) with a hard-anodized treatment
and a Stingray insert.

Aesthetics aside. Beauty is a personal thing. I have many quality knives including custom. All have had some slight fault or flaw on close examination, although they are all still very pleasing. This is the only knife that is perfect i.e. faultless in its production and in my opinion stunning in every way. Pictures do not do it justice.
Although the blade is superb, the handle scales are not tough enough. It may be a traditional design but the coating on the scales is easily chipped and scratched. My ideal, would be this ZDP189 honzukuri blade in the coated stainless scales of the Higo S (which has a ZDP189 shinozukuri blade)
So my wife said, 'If you can convince me that that knife is really worth that much, I'll buy you one for Xmas.' Ho hum, socks again. Seriously though, watch the demo, it'll bore you to death, but it may well convince you it's worth every penny.
