Description

The PUMA "Automesser" is a timeless classic, designed to handle the toughest demands with a blade that has proven its universal versatility for decades. Originating from the renowned PUMA Solingen, this knife builds on the heritage of the original PUMA "White Hunter" from the 1960s, maintaining the same exceptional qualities that have made it iconic.

The blade's design is meticulously thought out, enabling it to meet a wide range of tasks with ease. Its robust tip is durable enough for challenging tasks like opening cans or prying crown caps. Additionally, a hatchet edge is ground into the middle of the blade's spine, perfect for heavy-duty work like splitting firewood or chopping bones. The Automesser features beautifully crafted plum wood handle scales, securely riveted to a full tang, ensuring strength and durability.

In response to customer requests, the Automesser is now available without saw teeth, providing even greater control for precise tasks. The rear part of the cutting edge offers excellent handling for delicate work, making this innovative classic as relevant and functional today as it was decades ago.

Glad this classic is available again.

I purchased this knife model in 1979 from a Sporting Goods Store in Hounslow for what was then my weeks wages, £40. It is a design classic and just exudes quality. I used the knife a great deal but I also took considerable care of it. As a result after 46 years, whilst not quite as good as new, its pretty close. This is an heirloom knife and I can't recommend it highly enough.
