The Nitecore Thumb is the latest innovative offering from Nitecore and a truly unique product with a multitude of uses.
Featuring an adjustable angle head, that can tilt a full 120 degrees. The Nitecore Thumb has a removable clip that allows it to be attached to clothing, bags etc, or the clip can be removed and used with the supplied split ring for attaching to a set of keys.
Two white LEDs with a maximum output of 85 lumens are situated at the head end of the light and operate via a dedicated button (three brightness levels). In addition there are two red LEDs built into the body of the torch, also with a dedicated button for operation. The red light is particularly useful for use as a visibility aid while running or cycling and also features a flashing mode.
The Nitecore Thumb is powered by an integrated Li-ion rechargeable battery, that is charged via a micro USB port on the side. An intelligent circuit protects against over charge / discharge and automatically terminates when power level reaches 100%. During charging there is a red power indicator, turning green when charging is complete. The Nitecore Thumb is made from an extremely durable polycarbonate with outstanding impact resistance and weighs in at only 25 grams.

Add to BasketDisappointed about the short time the battery lasts, I have tried low power and high power, half drained charging and fully empty charging,, no difference, it s max continuously on to dead is 1 min 12 seconds. Maybe it's faulty, I don't know. 1 werk old.
I’ve brought this to clip onto my maxpedition Janus pouch… great little light for the money… nice strong clip… good bright output with a very wide spread…and the ability to tilt the head is great for use whilst clipped to the strap… very happy with this for the money
Nicely made & good design but there is one major flaw, after about 6 months of use the light will only hold charge for less than a week, even when fully charged the light will not turn on after a week without any use. Purchased for close up, hands free, emergency use, I need something to rely on, this definitely is not it.

Soon as I saw this little light available, the various applications that it could be put to immediately appealed to me. Rechargeable so I dont have to keep spending on power cells, and integrated red light to save night vision, as well as low, medium and high on the standard white lights. Size is perfect for the pocket, you really dont notice its there, and all levels of illumination are totally appropriate for the varying conditions I find that I need a light for, where its low level for making my way to the loo in the middle of the night, medium for walking round the house to lock up gates during hours of darkness, or high for woodland walks with the dog at night. Position of the pocket/cap clip and direction of the swivel head, make this a light I can use hands-free, in more ways than one. It fits beautifully on a peaked cap, and also to a chest level pocket, or belt. not the cheapest option, and the head could probably do with some kind of retention machanism to lock it open straight or at 90 degrees, but these are small points when compared to its functionality!
As a Sparky i find myself in dark places on a daily basis, this small but powerful little treasure really meets with all my needs. I went camping after receiving it & i used the flashing red light as a homing beacon attached to my tarp for when a had to make a call of nature in the night. Why don't all torches have USB charging like this model, talk about living in the dark ages. I really hope the swivel head stands up to the test of time as this is a great feature.
