The internal safety features include a pressure relief valve with activates in the event of rapid temperature increase and a built-in protective circuit of the positive polarity which protects against overcharge, over discharge and short-circuiting. Externally, the battery has nickel plated stainless steel protectors at both ends, a tough plastic circuit board protector and a durable metallic film to prevent abrasion.
