The Nextool Frigate Shovel 14-in-1 Multi-tool is not your average multi-tool…it’s nearly 100cm long with all the handle parts fitted after all. This is never going to be your average little pocket tool that you can faff about with your glasses screw but it will make THE perfect bug out, camping or survival tool.
There are 14 tools all together all part of an incredibly tough shovel. In the 6061-T6 aluminium handle you’ll discover a compass, a glass breaker, a survival whistle, a fire striker and a flat head and Phillips screwdriver. Incorporated into the spade head there is a seat belt cutter blade, a bottle opener, a saw edge and two wrenches. You also get a length of paracord, a nylon sheath for the spade and a nylon case to store the whole lot. Oh and there’s a shoulder strap so you can carry it around with you!
Some multi-tools are very handy, some are used every and now and again but some, like the Nextool Frigate are just plain heroic!

Add to BasketDoes all you'd expect and a bit more besides. Only gripe was that once screwed together and used in anger I struggled to separate the shaft into its parts. Bit of WD40 and elbow grease once home had it sorted. Maybe some flats on each section would help (or maybe I overtightened it).
Like many I suspect, I was very wary of these tools after seeing many examples on a 'big river' namesake site. Trust our friends at HH! I took the plunge and am very grateful I did. Good construction and decent heft. Use as many of the sections as required. I dug the car out quite happily. An important consideration for opting for this version was the lack of tools within the sections. The voids can be filled with your own choice of items. Secondly the cost went into the tool, not the additional bits that may be of questionable functionality. You probably carry those items anyway.
