This is a simple version of a simple Japanese design, a no nonsense folder with a folded metal handle, non-locking blade and a simple extended tang to open it.
The Higonokami style is a friction folder, with no lock, held open by the user’s hand acting on the tang. You'll appreciate the simplicity of the sparse, Nagao design – there’s nothing on this knife that’s surplus to requirements. The handle is of brass with a scallop to accommodate the fingers when the blade is open. The blade pivots around a rivet, spaced with a pair of plain brass washers.
This is the medium version measuring 8.5cm (including the extended tang) long when closed. It's a very nice size and lacks nothing in efficiency and cutting ability. It is supplied with a brown leather pouch with key chain attachment.
