This is a simple version of a simple Japanese design, a no nonsense folder with a folded metal handle, non-locking blade and a simple extended tang to open it. The Higonokami style is a friction folder, with no lock, held open by the user’s hand acting on the tang. You'll appreciate the simplicity of the sparse, Nagao design – there’s nothing on this knife that’s surplus to requirements. The handle is of brass with a scallop to accommodate the fingers when the blade is open. The blade pivots around a rivet, spaced with a pair of plain brass washers.
This mini version is only 6.4cm long when closed but lacks nothing in efficiency and cutting ability. It is supplied with a red leather pouch with key chain attachment.

Add to BasketNice little pouch, and the blade looks and feels like good steel. Took a little work on the stones to put a good edge on it, and found it a bit fiddly at this size. Overall happy with it for taking to the allotment as a budding knife.

A birthday present which proved to be as sharp as a beach ball. Everything about it is nice including the leatherette pouch but there's just no edge.
I can't fault the presentation, the box, the neat little pouch and the general look of this tiny knife . Sadly it wasn't sharp and required quite an amount of work to get anything like an edge. Can't fault it for novelty and cuteness though so it might make it onto my keychain.
