Works better than it looks
Lost a star for the unsymmetrical secondary bevel (more like a chisel grind near the tip) and also the primary bevel starts at different distances from the handle on each side. Certainly is hand made... The handle was almost black upon opening, but a little wipe of danish oil brought out the nice grain. Does any of the above matter? Not really. When it's in your hand and you're limbing branches it cuts great. Very good chopping power and the handle shape, although a little swollen, does offer superb grip. Be noted this is much shorter and stumpy IRL compared to the photo. Long enough for all chopping tasks - it surprised me. I would not use this for clearing tall grass/stinging nettles.
