The Maxpedition Janus Pouch is an accessory pocket that splices into 2 inch straps using side release buckles

An adjustable and removable strap allows user to decide which side should face forward and whether the opening points to the left or right. The JANUS splices into 2" shoulder straps or waist straps using compatible quick release buckle components, providing additional storage for most customers or elongating a fully extended shoulder/waist strap for larger folks.

The extension strap can also be completely removed and used independently of the pouch. The pouch too can be used independently by modular attachment to PALS webbing using a pair of 5" TacTie (also with either side facing outwards, opening left or right).

**Please note that Janus Extension Pocket buckles are compatible with the 2" Duraflex WARRIOR buckles. Please check your pack to make sure you have this type of buckle.

    pricey but worth it

Posted by bob on 26th Jun 2015

fits seamlessly with my larkspur bag and adds a load of functionality without looking *too* tactical - perfect size for galaxy size phone, wallet and keys. sits nice under left breast with bag slung to rear. recommended.

excellent pouch, fits an Iphone 5

Posted by ghisl on 2nd Dec 2014

I had to upgrade my Maxpedition Anemore pouch as I had upgraded my phone (sad isn't it?!!) This Janus pouch is well designed, with a lot of different attachment possibilities, feels very sturdy. I use it for my phone and my wallet. Both fit in without any problem and the pouch doesn't seem to have anything in, which keeps its profile low. As always Heinnie fast delivery is always a welcome bonus.

Lovely kiy but at a high price

Posted by Sarnt Major on 23rd Nov 2014

Bought to go with a Maxpedition Fat Boy, and works very well in this pairing. Quite large for an add-on pouch, surprising how much one can get in it. Also works well as a stand-alone pouch on a waist belt for those essential items (e.g. wallet, passport, small torch, keys, essential meds “ you know the score) The extension strap that comes with it is useful in its own right as it can extend the straps of other Maxpedition kit. Very well built, typical Maxpedition over-engineering and non-destuctible. Now for the critical aspect: no two ways about it, it is expensive and I feel it's overpriced “ however once bought and used you'll be pleased you own which moderates the pain of the high cost. So a 9 out of 10 rating, losing a point because of the cost, so can only award it four out of five stars on the Hennie rating system. Would I buy another? Yes, most probably. Would I recommend one? Yes, as long as the cost doesn't put you off. And not forgetting the superb service by Hennie Haynes aiding product back-up and making the buying experience satisfying - well done fellas and lasses.

Perfect companion to my Maxpedition Jumbo Versipak

Posted by Chris Lee on 26th Jul 2014

Yet again Maxpedition has impressed. Using is for my Personal Survival Kit, attached to my Jumbo Versipak. Great size outside but Tardis like inside. Surprised how much this little thing will hold without losing its shape or compact size. Usual build quality you would associate with Maxpedition and the usual outstanding service you can expect from HH. Really wish I had got one of these Janus pouches sooner but that may have meant I wouldn't have found HH, which I am glad I did. Thanks guys and Girls @ HH :)

    Great pack add on

Posted by Richie on 24th May 2014

Bought this to attach to a Sitka for holding passport, seamans book, phone & other travel stuff up front on my pack for easy access & security. Works great for the intended purpose & easy to swap between bags & belt. Of far more use than expected. Usual great H&H service.

A quality and spacious bit of kit

Posted by Sean Finlayson on 21st Apr 2013

This is worth every penny. I've attached it to my Maxpedition Falcon II bag and it looks like it's part of the bag itself. Mine contains 1st aid/trauma kit. Easy to access in a hurry and has been already 'used in anger'and performed faultlessly. Extremely versatile and with the HH legendary fast delivery, you cannot go wrong! Perfect for customising any personal carry system. Get one - you won't be disappointed!

    perfect mini B.O.B. ?

Posted by Chris on 14th Jan 2013

Firstly, how many ways to attach it? Cool pouch, loads of versatility, mine is now strapped to my CS trailmaster sheath, holding, torch, sharpener, firestarter, compass, back up blade-7inch Tip to butt!- and more with space to spare! Hardwearing good zips and really surprisingly good. Decent advice again from the Team at HH!

Maybe the best small EDC bag?

Posted by Dennis J?rgensen on 15th Jul 2011

It took some time to find out how I would use this, but it is absolutely great! It alternates between my Sitka and Noatak, high or low on the strap, or I run my normal belt thru it as a buttpack, or keep it in my cargo pants. Holds iphone, small wallet, knife or multitool, comb, pen, headphones, bandanna, microfiber cloth, bandaids, flashlight and lighter still with room to spare, and room on the outside too. Get one! Makes it easy to move between loadouts, or use alone.

    The best Maxpedition extention tool

Posted by Mark Jamil on 4th Mar 2010

Use this by itself or attach‡ to an s-type fatboy versipack like I have, waited some time for the black one to come in stock & it was worth it,it can add some valuable storage space to the any of the fatboy versipack range,or just detach from the supplied belt clips. Once you open the hard wearing YKK zippers the sky's the limit, although intended for military, camping or hiking tools, this pouch is actually ideal for a Sony PSP 3000 with original Sony pouch & around 6 U.M.D. cartridges.
