      Impressed

The 10x4 pouch comfortably holds a 750ml Camelbak or similar bottle. The padding surrounding the pouch means it would also be suitable for holding something more delicate, such as a telephoto lens. The front pocket is a good size and would be ideal for a brew kit, a mini stove, or similar sized items. The D rings allow for fitting a carry strap to it and with the PALS webbing on each side you can attach other pouches to it to make a small custom day bag. The webbing on the back allows for attaching to a larger bag, I have mine attached to a Colossus Versipack and use it to make up for the lack of a built in bottle holder as you get on some other Versipacks. The downside is that it is pretty expensive for what it is, but that's to be expected with quality gear from a company like Maxpedition. You pay for quality, and should only need to buy once rather than have to keep replacing cheap, shoddy gear.

A bag in its own right

      Posted by Paulhw100 on 12th Sep 2014

Lovely quality piece of kit, fits my nalgene narrow mouth bottle with a bit of room to spare. The thing I like most about it is it's like a small bag in its own right, you don't really need to have it attached to anything else. Put a strap on it, couple of extra pouches, or two fastened together and you'd have a nice little companion for walks. Next purchase will be the 12x 5 for my jet boil. I'm afraid like the previous reviewer I'm becoming a bit of a junkie. A bit pricey, but top notch quality. If you can afford maxpedition gear, don't hesitate, buy it.

I am becoming something of a Maxpedition junkie. I bought the Falcon II in December 2011 and after a lot of hard regular use it still looks like new. The bottle holder is just as solid. I have the Jumbo Versipak, and quite a few of the pouches etc, and am looking to get the Condor II later this year. Maxpedition makes great gear and I can't reccomend it enough. HH has the best customer service ever, wish other companies were as good.

      Maxpedition Bottle Holder 10x4

Posted by David J Jones on 26th Jun 2013

As usual, from Heinnie, I received it the next Day ;). Very professional thankyou. A great product as can be expected from Maxpedition brand! Made very well too. I?m going to use my Klean Kanteen 27oz (800ML), a Great EDC water kanteen. (Just a little taller than your usual Nalgene wide mouth, but it fits still all the same, varying, depending on the cap/top used). I also have a Nalgene 1L. Small pouch at the front with elastic secure loops. Can carry other stuff, hand wash, dog bags, first aid, surgical gloves, you name it.

      Very Good

This bag is a perfect fit for 1L Nalgene bottle. Put a narrow opening Nalgene bottle in, there was over 1/2in head room left. Not to mention the wide opening Nalgene bottle, which is a tad shorter than the narrow opening bottle. Plenty space for tea bags. Inside the front pocket, there is an elastic restrainer, very thoughtful design. Padding was not on the thin side but sufficient for the purpose. For photographers alike, the 10x4 bag can hold Nikon 80-200mm f2.8/D (New Type) with hood reversed, tripod collar on lens. There is still some head room left.

      Good but not perfect!

The Maxpedition Bottle Holder 10x4 is a good bit of kit but Maxpedition?s greed lets it down. The pouch is on its own a pretty Gucci bit of gear, you can fit a Tatonka metal mug at the bottom of the main compartment with a Nalgene bottle fitting snugly and still have a bit of room in the top for extras. The front compartment will take plenty of brew kit and puri-tabs for a couple of days. However the design is let down by Maxpedition not completing the MOLLE/PALS integration on the back. I find it immensely annoying that Maxped require the customer to also spend an extra 6 quid buying the Tie Tacs in order to integrate the pouch with other equipment.

      Great bit of Kit

Posted by Kev Ainsley on 6th Jul 2011

Just got back from a trip to Thailand. this bit of kit was great both up country and around Bangkok. it has a reasonable insulating quality which kept the water palatably cool for 2 to 3 hours, considerably longer if I added ice to it. Up country comfortably put a gerber gator in the elasticated strap inside the pouch together with a survival kit in a tin and 3 strips of water purification tablets. There was enough space inside the main compartment to store some wet wipes atop the nalgene bottle. Excellent bit of kit.

      A black hole for gear

Posted by RzR on 2nd Feb 2011

I waited a while to get my hands ont he 12x5 version, and the wait was worth it. It holds a massive amount of stuff. I carry my Jetboil Flash, a round tupperware container with Tea, Coffee etc, 2 meal packs from a ration box and some other bits and bobs - and there is still space !
