    East meets West

I agree with Wilf that the construction and finish of this knife is excellent. I chose the Palo Santo as I liked the grain and colour but I would have been well satisfied if only olive wood had been available. It certainly has some unusual features, the most noticeable being the steep slope of the crossguard and the deep finger recess in the ricasso. I'm not too bothered about the placing of the retaining strap although I can appreciate Wilf's point. If mine ever does come to grief I can always make a new sheath. And as for speed of service from Heinnie Haynes - outstanding as usual.

Good quality, excellent finish and detail for the knife and sheath. Sharp enough from the box, and strops up easily to a fine edge. Safe and comfortable to use with choil in choked-up hold. Why only four stars? It's a personal thing, but why do most knife makers put the retaining strap on the knife edge side of the sheath where it's most likely to be cut and damaged? I have only one knife, a Kizlyar, on which the strap is on the spine side to avoid this. Overall a versatile blade, and certainly one people will notice..
