Should be included in the kit, really.

I can't see how people are expected to manage without one of these, unless you use a vice and don't mind undoing it every time you need to flip the clamp over. I'll be honest, the mount helps greatly in many ways, but the clamp fits quite loosely on the peg, so there's a fair bit of wobble, too. You won't be sharpening one-handed! While it does fit inside the case, it can be a tight squeeze as there's no designated slot for it (I have the five stone kit) and the case itself is cheap plastic so not exactly a flush closure. In summary, definitely 'entry level' like the rest of the kit, but an essential component, nonetheless and functional enough to get good results. A recommended purchase, for sure.

This compliments the Lansky Sharpening System perfectly - I didn't think it could make the sharpening process easier but bought it anyway, out of curiosity. This are quicker, easier and safer with this cheap bit of kit - it even fits inside the box!

If you have the Lansky sharper you'll know what I mean and this makes you able to keep you pressure more even . Which will keep your angles much more consistent.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago and it is still the most useful way to ease the strain on your wrists and ensure no slips as you are sharpening . As Watson says "it fits inside the case the case" so well that Lansky really should include them in the kits. Double sided tape or screw down. The plastic cone shaped ones work as well but won't fit the case so well. :)

It really does help steady things out and is a great edition to any of the lansky systems. A plus bonus is, it fits inside the case without having to remove any of the stones. The base lies just on top of the stones and the stand lies below the lansky clamp, on the stones rod attachments. Excellent!
