Description

The world renowned Kizer Vagnino Zipslip is now available as a Heinnie® Exclusive. In collaboration with the designer Michael Vagnino and Kizer we have added some new features to create this exciting new UK friendly folder.

The handle, of course, features the Heinnie® red G10 handle whilst a newly formed blade shape creates a compact design and very practical Every Day Carry tool. The deep carry, removable pocket clip is made from stainless steel and will keep your knife close to through out your working day.

Blade cut outs have been replaced with ambidextrous thumb studs for one handed opening and a double detent lessens the risk of accidental closure during use. The blade is made from 154CM stainless steel and features the Heinnie® 'H' logo. The knife is supplied with a Kizer sticker and cleaning cloth and six replacement screws.

    HH does it again

Posted by Ralph Davies on 16th Aug 2023

I don't normally leave reviews and I have bought many knives from HH over the years. This exclusive is another cracker from them. I already own the 'standard' Zipslip and did pause on buying this but, at the price it was a no-brainer. Improved steel, thoughtful changes to the blade design and a thumbstud for one-handed opening. The red scales give it a great and unthreatening look. The reason I wrote this review is that I did read some less positive reviews. Yes, it doesn't fly open, but I like that; it will mellow with use. The thumb stud positioning is fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine is that you won't regret buying it.

    Kizer Vagnino Zipslip Heinnie Exclusive

Posted by Shaun Dolan on 16th Aug 2023

I had quite high expectations for this one, but I have mixed feelings about it. Firstly, the build quality is exceptional, and the size and weight are just right for me. It feels good in the hand and the steel is good, and of a good thick gauge. I like the G10, and love the Heinnie red. Perfect so far, but I do have niggles. Describing the Dual thumb studs as making the knife a one handed opener is a bit of a reach. It I definetely a two handed opener, and I find it easier to pull on the blade to open it than to use the studs, which are way back on the blade and don't really provide the leverage to easily open the blade. I find I have to grip both thumb studs with one hand, and the knife with the other, which is why pulling on the blade is so much easier for me. The good (or bad news) is that you're not likely to cut yourself while struggling with the blade or studs because the knife is practically blunt out of the box. Ive bought hundreds of knives in the last few decades, and I can't remember a single one that was as blunt as this out of the box. I can drag the blade edge across my thumb with barely a mark. Hopefully not all of these will be like that, but hey Kizer, a bit more effort required there. One final niggle for me is that I hate pocket clips. The first thing I do is take them off. (A blanking plate would be a nice touch). Always a bug bear for me is the lack of a layard hole or attachment, because that's normally an essential for me once I've removed the pocket clip. In the end, it's a really nice knife for not much money with minor niggles, but expect to have to sharpen or strop it yourself to get a proper edge.

    Great Value Slippy

Posted by David Howell on 15th Aug 2023

Probably the best value UK legal to carry folding knife. I already own the black n690 version which is already great value. This version is cheaper, has thumb studs and arguably better steel, depending on your use case. It still has the same non-moving spine which means it still has the just over half stop, half stop. Some people don't like this because it can pinch your finger with the choil, but they are babies looking for something to moan about. I always like a big finger choil on a slippy. It still makes the same nice tinny click sounds. There are nicer slippy's and cheaper slippy's but the balance here is very good

    Friday afternoon Heinnie Kizer Vagnino

Posted by John Dowling on 15th Aug 2023

I must have got a Friday afternoon model. It arrived with the usual Heinnie speed of light delivery. However, it's impossible to open one-handed, medium-sharp and feels like a crowbar, not a knife. Compared to the HH UKPK, it's not going to enjoy any pocket-time. I'd send it back but I've already adjusted the friction (to no effect).

    First impression is WOW

Posted by T Donnaghue on 15th Aug 2023

I cannot fault it on paper and in person, great materials, good price fits lovely in hand and with the stud opens better than original (I have the TI version) less than 24 hr delivery. Will update in a few weeks after use.

    Absolutely gorgeous KIZER VAGNINO

Posted by David Hamer on 15th Aug 2023

You know the score: usual HH service etc. Ordered just before 4pm arrived 10am next morning! P&P up to the usual highest standard, knife arrived in perfect condition. The knife itself.....looks great, has a nice weight to it, not heavy but solid. Blade shape is spot on and a real plus - one of the things that draws the eye. I'd say 8/10 for sharpness but that's ok. Time will tell, but for the price I have a feeling this is definitely going to be one of the best EDCs I've got.
