Description

The world renowned Kizer Vagnino Zipslip is now available as a Heinnie® Exclusive. In collaboration with the designer Michael Vagnino and Kizer we have added some new features to create this exciting new UK friendly folder.

The handle, of course, features the Heinnie® red G10 handle whilst a newly formed blade shape creates a compact design and very practical Every Day Carry tool. The deep carry, removable pocket clip is made from stainless steel and will keep your knife close to through out your working day.

Blade cut outs have been replaced with ambidextrous thumb studs for one handed opening and a double detent lessens the risk of accidental closure during use. The blade is made from 154CM stainless steel and features the Heinnie® 'H' logo. The knife is supplied with a Kizer sticker and cleaning cloth and six replacement screws.

    Form over function

Posted by Daz on 23rd Aug 2023

I'll start by saying absolute first class service from Heinnie yet again with regards to order processing but dissapointed with this one. Looked good on the pics but a few mins in hand I knew it wasn't for me. It has a decent heft to it which gives confidence in use but the thumb studs are useless. I have decent strength in my hands as I'm a landscaper but they're still a struggle. Poorly designed as they're almost smooth with the scales so no grip on top and hardly any gap between them and the handle to get in. Easier just to grip the blade and open double handed, I'll probably just remove them. I passed it to a workmate on a job who did exactly the same, tried the thumstud then straight to two hands. A simple nail nick or original cut out would have been a better option. The blade also needed a few minutes on a high grit stone to finish it off but that's just personal preference. The positive side of this is it's a strong built knife/spring with a finger choil for increased safety and it was cheap with the early offer. Strangely because I don't like it, I decided to keep it and use as a beater to save my favourites. This is just personal opinion though and just as well or our collections would be boring if we all liked the same.

    Another great Heinnie Haynes Edition

Posted by Stuart Cooke on 19th Aug 2023

I have had a Zipslip on my wishlist for a while now and didn’t hesitate to pick one up when I saw a Heinnie Edition. Feels very solid and a good weight to it. With the thumb-stud you can open it single handed with a flick, but I have to put a fair amount of wrist into it, it’s by no means easy… but it’s achievable.

    Voting with the weak-handed

Posted by Thomas Hervey on 19th Aug 2023

Just wanted to side with those who find the puny thumb stud not really adequate to the task (despite Heinnie saying that they tested it before production and had no problems). The stud on the Boker Plus XS is much beefier and I have no problem opening the knife despite the serious back spring. Having a stud that doesn't stand proud of the (very thick) liner doesn't make sense to me. As it happens, mine was also not up to the sharpness standard that one might expect. That being said, the shape of the blade is a thing of beauty and the non-moving back spring is kind of a fun novelty.

    Good knife, great price

Posted by Dan Sharpe on 17th Aug 2023

Very well made and attractive knife as I expect from Kizer, feels good in the hand with a secure non-lock up. It isn't as light as an FRN UKPK but then it has steel liners. Despite the dual thumbstuds I didn't expect to be able to open this one handed because of arthritis in my hands, and I am glad that I can't as then it would not feel as secure as it does. For the subscriber price this is an excellent knife.

    Just Awesome

Posted by Pallen on 17th Aug 2023

I'd been looking at the Kizer Zipslip for sometime, when the HH edition dropped it was the perfect opportunity and I'm now glad I held off. This is a great piece that is worth every penny and a fantastic service from HH as always.

    A really solidly built knife

Posted by Stuart Headey on 16th Aug 2023

Well mine was incredibly sharp. So much so that I managed to snag my left index finger. The blade and the G10 scales are beautiful. Personally, I love the weight and reassuring solidity. A proper work knife. So, yes. It is a bit of a job to open with the thumb studs. I'm hoping it will loosen up over time. However, there's always the option of two hand opening and I'd much rather have the thumb studs than not. All in all I'm very impressed with this purchase and I'm sure I will get a lot of use out of it. Delivery was excellent as per.

    Nice knife

Posted by John D on 16th Aug 2023

People say it's hard to open. I found opening as easy as most other knives (I think they must have weak hands). It's a good size and the 154cm blade was sharp out the box. I will probably get a second knife to keep in a collection as the one I have will be a user.

    Love it

Posted by Y Olov on 16th Aug 2023

Take it from me I class my self as a weeklyn 7.5 stone wet and I can open it with a reassuring thud and ease with my right hand. From what i read high grade steel and G10 time will tell with the steel for me but love the design and colour
