The Wasp is a compact button-lock folder from Kansept, designed by Justin Koch of Koch Tools, whose work tends to combine practical EDC function with a distinctly industrial style.
At just 60mm of blade, the Wasp is properly pocket-sized, but its distinct profile gives you plenty of useful edge for opening parcels, cutting cord and other everyday jobs. This version uses an acid-etched Damascus blade, giving the patterned steel a darker, more subdued appearance.
The purple anodised titanium handle is extensively machined with holes, reducing weight while giving the Wasp its distinctive Koch Tools look. At 97.5 g, it still feels reassuringly substantial, with the button lock providing straightforward operation.
The Wasp is distinct, useful and feels substantial in hand despite its compact size.
