    Collectors piece

Posted by Mr Christian of the Bounty on 3rd Apr 2023

Look man this is a fantstic knife by a amazing Sheffield maker with 300 years of heratage but for the very serious collector; know that this is a far cry from the original F&S fighting knife. This is a bueatifully crafted display peice and is very much more then capable of 'doing the job' however lets be truely honest here it's a shower not a grower. I've had Fairbairn and Sykes fighting knifes in abundence and even those hand crafted by Tom Beasley himself HOWEVER for the price this is a sexy looking thing and would be a delightfully aesthetic contribution to any collectors collection. John Knowill remain the very 'Best of the best' as far as Sheffield Steel is concered. And if you need provenance...I was born in Sheffield and my Grandfather Mr Frank Kelshaw used to run the largest most prestiduous Steel Works in Sheffield. Personally I've studied sword and knife making for 44 years and this is a winner for anyone interested in well made Sheffield Steel,

    Worth the Wait

Posted by colin on 26th Feb 2016

This knife was out of stock when i ordered it and took 5 wks to arrive (no fault on heinnie's part) but it was well worth the wait . Its a beautiful display knife to add to any collection , the two edgrs are not very sharp but i suppose its the "point" thats the business end on this type of knife . The polished s/steel blade is complimented with a brass & black fibre handle where most of the weight is , with a shape that makes it feel good in the hand . If you display your knives get one !!
