The sharpening of the blade edges and the design of the handle have been optimised for cable stripping. It features a unique function for attaching the holster around a button on your work clothes so that it does not come loose whilst still being easy to remove. The blade is made from Japanese knife steel, 1.5 mm carbon steel that has been hardened to 58–60 HRC.

Green is left handed, orange is right handed

  • The two edges have been sharpened to be particularly effective when stripping cables.
  • Both the handle and holster are made from super-durable PP plastic.
  • The holster can be attached to both a belt and a button on your work clothes. If your belt is thick, cut away the small pin on the cover.
  • ELK-L has a green handle with edges sharpened for left-handed use.

      Love this improved version

Posted by Dan Moseley on 23rd Sep 2022

I had the older version that didn't have the cable stripping notch at the top, went missing at work as tolls usually do. This new version is excellent.

      Left-handed knife, right-handed sheath

Posted by JIR on 30th Apr 2018

As a leftie, I was happy to see a left-handed option for an asymetric tool. As an electrician's knife it's fine so far, but the big disappointment was the sheath, which is right-handed. I guess the sheaths are a bulk item, made the same for different types of knife, and it's not worth their while to vary the design just for one variant of one knife. You can work around it, if you have a tool pouch with blade-proof pockets, but it makes sheath useless in practice.

      Great Value

Posted by Alan on 20th Mar 2017

Excellent quality, cheap as chips. As a handyman, I keep this in my toolbag, and it gets used surprisingly often, not just for electrical cable stripping. If I lost it I would buy another one in a heartbeat!

You're going to scream at me...

Posted by Hullblazer on 6th Jan 2017

I have very large hands ( I would, I'm 6'4" with a 48" chest) and whilst an EDC doesn't need to be big for me, knives with a dedicated purpose do. I hobby-sell watches on auction-sites and often have to pop-off snap-on backs, in order to change batteries, swap out mechanisms etc. The tools available fo this are too often too smally to get a purchase on, or have a blade that's too thick to get a purchase. So this electrician's knife spoke to me. It arrived today and I am very impressed: it is solid, large-handles and very sharp. Having tested it on some reticent watch backs, it is perfect for the role and, being under £4, is effectively a "throw-away" should the role eat the blade. I don't expect it to, it's solidly built!

      I works!

Really handy for stripping cable, and remarkably easy not to over cut through to insulation and into the shielding. This is going to save my teeth from a lot of work!
