Description

Knife developed and adapted to suit the needs of
craftsmen, manufactured in Japanese knife steel. A
unique method for attaching the sheath around a
button on your work clothes means it does not
loosen, but is easy to remove. The knife blade is
manufactured in 2.5 mm stainless steel that has
been hardened to 58-60 HRC. The cutting edge has
been sharpened in several stages with a final
honing on a leather strop. The handle and sheath
are made of extra durable PP plastic. The sheath fits
just as well on your belt as on your buttons.

hultafors 380060 stainless with blue pp handle

Posted by Ian on 10th Jun 2011

Incredible value outdoors knife! The blade is slightly shorter and less deep, yet at 2.5mm is a little thicker, than my Mora clipper. The Scandi grind is also rather higher. Very much resembles the old Mora 510 blade in both shape and dimensions in fact. The knife is well balanced in the hand, point of balance is at the position of your index finger as you hold the knife in a conventional fist grip. The spine is nicely squared off and the hardness of the steel is such that even this stainless model gives a great shower of sparks with a fire-steel. The sometimes criticised sheath is well made and gives a strong and positive friction fit which retains the knife securley. Bit of a pain to fit to a belt however with the hinged flap arrangement. A Mora style belt clip would arguably be better. Alternatively, wear it as a neck knife as the low weight and compact proportions make it ideal as an always- with- you back up blade. At £4.95 its a steal, buy 1, or 6!
