Helikon-Tex Foxtrot MK2 Belt Rig

So far mankind has invented three noteworthy ways to carry field essentials: on the back, over the shoulder, or around ones hips. The backpack allows the heaviest loads to be carried, but shoulder bag gives faster access to the contents, while belt rig sort-of combines them both. For long hikes over uneven terrain, belt-carry is the wisest solution. It does not distort the body's thermal regulation, spreads the load evenly, saving backbone, and all items are within quick reach.

The Helikon-Tex Foxtrot Mk2 Belt Rig can be worn as a stand-alone item or be worn with functional braces. The design is easily adjustable. The Foxtrot comprises the main compartment with open-top sewn water bottle pockets, a partial belt at sides with MOLLE/PALS attachment points for modular pouches (med kit, knife pouch, cargo pouch etc.). ALICE and other 50-mm ribbon tapes based pouches can be attached.

The main compartment comprises two zippered pockets with a velcro-closed one on the front. Additional Versatile Insert System-compatible inserts can be added within the main compartment. Rolled poncho or thin seating mat can be held under the top-of-the-pocket rubber band – or under the compression ribbons at the bottom. The braces (shoulder straps) are easily-adjustable with velcro at the back, they stabilize the load and spread the loads all over the wearer's frame.

Foxtrot Mk2 is an ideal solution for Nordic Walking-style hikes.

    Cyclists take note

Posted by AR on 19th Jul 2021

I bought this, in part, to use whilst cycling. That might sound odd, but this rig allows you carry quite a lot of gear in a way that keeps the weight low and secure. Importantly, it keeps your upper back open, which aids greatly with cooling. Great build quality, and thoughtful design. Really, my only wish would be for some molle on the shoulder straps, so one could attach a pouch for radio/phone.

    Excellent with Modifications

Posted by david Bladon on 28th Oct 2020

I bought this to use as a EDC for when I went out walking/hill walking and it's a pretty good piece of kit if you modify it. Firstly, ditch the harness as it looks terrible and in all honesty you can do without it if you carry out a simple modification. Remove the plastic buckle, it's awful and doesn't grip well at all, simply fit a military type roll pin buckle and it becomes extremely useable. I have also added a velcro panel into the inside which makes it easier for the like of a torch and pens to be secured and easy to get at. Zips are great, quality is well up there and the water bottle pockets are great, easily fits a wide mouth larger bottle in there and the securing bungees work well. I can pretty much fit a small tarp underneath, light waterproof/windproof, phone, FAK, some food for snacks, Wallet and all that no problem at all. If you overload it then it will slip down your backside but with a well thought out EDC kit list and the modification it's very very good.

    Great Bag but Needs Modified

Posted by David on 16th Aug 2020

So I bough this bag just recently and with a little modification it could be a great bag. First off the quality is very good, zips, stitching and fabric are all strong and built to last. I chose this over the Direct Action Foxtrot purely as it was nearly 500g lighter and that really helps especially when loading this bag up. Size is good, plenty of space for phone, keys, stow away jacket and a small med kit, the mesh pockets easily hold cables, battery packs and small items, inside there is a Velcro pad for attaching various pouches etc. The dual water bottles holders are superb and I have a couple of Helikon 500ml wide mouth bottles that fit perfectly and the bungee cord does a great job of holding them in place. Bag is super comfy too and the padding is good. So these are the good bits, now for the bad. First off replace the plastic buckle and awkward adjustment straps with a roll pin buckle or something that works, it's ridiculously fiddly to adjust quickly on the fly. If you are carrying a couple of water bottles, tarp, med kit, some food and your EDC kit then I'm afraid you'll have to use the harness provided, this bag just won't stay in place once you load it up, as an everyday carry with basic kit it's fine but the more kit goes in the more unstable it becomes and due the adjuster strap being so bad it just gets frustrating. All in all great value, delivered very quickly and with some mods could be the perfect waist/bum bag for a day out on the hills or doing bush craft but don't overload it.....

    Worth the wait

Posted by Big Trev on 17th Jul 2020

These have been out of stock on every site for awhile. After seeing a favoured youtuber using one I decided to upgrade from a shoulder pack to this. I was looking for an easy carry bag for day use and occasional overnight, this seemed to fit the bill and it does. tarp and blanket rolled underneath, poncho on top two litres of water (plus my back free for a 3 litre bladder should I decide) ample space for bits and pieces inside the main pouch and nicely organised front pouch. Also has molle attachments to which I have put a first aid one side and folding stove and fire kit the other. I couldn't find a better deal anywhere in the UK than on Heinnie so well pleased. Covid slowed the delivery a little more than normal but it was sent the next morning after ordering so it was royal mail not the excellent Heinnie Haynes service at fault. But as I said well worth the wait, buy with confidence.

    Best on the market

Posted by GSCDARTMOOR on 3rd Sep 2019

I ordered the black version yesterday and received it the next day, a high standard of service for a quality item. Exactly what i have been looking for, a lot of compartments and pulleys mine holds a cookset,(side) sleeping bag (2 season) internal. a saturn terra nova bivi (under straps) food, (internal) a litre water bottle (side), poncho on top, along with other survival basics in the outer back compartment. Pouches can be added to this if needed, also has various loops on the shoulder strapping for a whistle or phone pouch. It can be set up in different ways with the rigging, hip belt would be fine on all persons. Very comfortable and excellent workmanship. Will order from this site again.

    Great belt kit

Posted by James on 4th Apr 2019

I wanted a non tactical version of my military belt kit for low level walks and bushcraft. I ordered the black version and I'm very impressed. Very comfortable and carries shelter, ground sheet, water bottle , metal mug, stove and accessories with ease . Surprising water resistance too. I highly recommend it and of course the legendary service from Heinne was second to none.
