Description

If there is one thing that Heinnie Haynes® is known for it is excellence in design and quality of manufacture. Over the years we have amassed a wide range of products whose raison d'être meets ours, namely, if it ain't any good it's not going out to our customers. So when we turn our hand to designing a knife our standards are beyond what is normally acceptable.

So with that in mind, say hello to the "Heinnie Haynes® Slipstream." S35VN stainless steel blade, titanium handle, UK legal carry and the kind of precision manufacture that makes us happy people! Witness the back spine which sits so flush to the scales that it is in no way perceptible to the touch.

The blade opens with a degree of resistance and includes a half stop yet the blade snaps into place very reassuringly. The handle is extremely tactile and features a lanyard hole so you can personalise it as you wish.

It is supplied in a collectors box for storage and display

Worth the cost and then some!

Posted by Phil on 13th Jul 2019

I have a list as long as my arm of UK legal knives, mid/upper-mid range mostly, stuff like the BM proper, Hinderer slippy and the like to get an idea. I can say with certainty this bats well above its pay grade. Rock solid in the hand, and inspires more confidence than the proper. It has a strong backspring but can still pinch grip it open. Classic ergonomics, modern classic look, a very well ground blade, and would still recommend it at twice the price. Needed a sharpen after a few days, but not too much trouble on s35vn even with standard stones from a lansky kit. Only downside - the box is cool, but definitely not indestructible, and it's only a pelican(ish) LOOKING box (but for the money I wouldn't expect it to be anything more) Basically a 10/10 in my books!

    Superb design

Posted by Styks on 7th Jun 2019

I rarely leave reviews but this knife deserves some praise. I've been using a Viper Dan as my UK edc for quite some time, no other has matched up until now. The VD is a great knife, good design, good steel, nice and light., great single hand opening. Having said that I found the blade depth and thickness a hinderence at times, say peeling an apple or potato, slicing a tomato etc. The Slipstream is a superb design for a UK edc IMO, for me that is. I've not used it much, only arrived today, but I can see straight away it's made to slice, the angle of the blade to the handle, the way it swoops down to the belly forcing the cut. The slight up sweep makes for a natural cutting action right to the tip, the blade thickness tapering again aids slicing. Full flat grind with decent size secondary bevel to strengthen the edge. Everything ground perfectly, plunge, perfectly even grind, lovely swedge and a good sharpening notch which many lack. 90° stop and full lock up, positive, firm and smooth. For me personally it will do everthing I need an edc to do. Ok not as heavy duty as the Viper Dan, and no single hand opening, there are tasks I would still use VD for but as an everyday edc this now replaces my Viper Dan. Good steel, S35VN, as long as the heat treat is done well it should hold a good edge. Fit finish top notch and beautiful elegant lines, a bit beauty and the beast, Slipstream and Viper Dan. Well done HH!

    Solid; Worth the money!

Posted by Lee on 7th Mar 2019

Usual Heinnie Haynes fast delivery. First impressions out of the box. Feels very well made, and has a firm backspring from closed to halfstop then to open.Very nice! Blade came razor sharp on mine. Handle feels quite weighty for the knifes size, and the fact its titanium; but that was only my initial impression as its not a problem ; it just makes the knife feel 'Solid'. I'm pleased with it ,and think it's well worth the money. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you like this type of knife.
