Producing that troublesome second album, novel or sequel film is never easy, but the precedent is there. Think the "God Father: Part II", the "Back to the Future" films, "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, "Toy Story 2" even! The first was good but the second was even better but only as part of a series.

So when we came to design the Heinnie Haynes® Penfold 2.0 we were dead set on creating a line of classic UK carry folding knives. So what's different? The stand out modification is the "cut-outs" and extra sculpting on the Titanium handle. Not only does this look superb but it helps to cut down on the weight and improve the balance. The hidden lanyard bar remains to attach a lanyard of your choice.

The blade has a enjoyed a make over too. Whilst stiil being made from the quite exceptional S35VN stainless steel, it now benefits from a full-flat grind which enhances the classic lines of the knife and reinforces the cutting prowess.

The Penfold 2.0 is a classic in the making, a sequel of significance. Oh and it's had a liitle brother too!

    HEINNIE HAYNES® PENFOLD 2.0

Posted by Gerwyn Weaver on 20th May 2023

A very nicely made piece that is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a pocket knife in this UK land of ours. Fit and finish is excellent the blade grind is spot on and the centring is likewise. There is zero blade play side to side and a very nice strength back spring that is a very welcome addition not like some that could be mentioned. It gives you a good sense of safety as far as a slip joint can give without having a locking mechanism (good old UK logic at work make the safety of a lock illegal) anyway a piece that has been a little beauty to use and is still in perfect working condition so if you’re looking for a good quality piece then this is the one that could definitely be it.

    Stuff of scifi

This is the penknife that Bruce Wills could have had in his pocket in the 5th element. Looks so cool and modern. I am a bit fan of the big flat knife edge as well. A beautiful little slip joint.

    Quality but small

Well built little knife, great quality in every aspect. Unfortunately a little too small for me, and no clip or anywhere to tie a string. Had to return it.

    Hard to beat

Has a lot going for it. Uk friendly-✓ Premium handle material-✓ Superb blade steel -s35vn✓ Lanyard hole-✓ Stop pin-✓ Bronze washers-✓ Flawless fit/finish-✓ Nice even factory edge-✓ full flat grind-✓ Absolute gem of a knife, both mini and regular 2.0 penfold are superb. 9.9/10 A few minor things, as nothing can be perfect lol The H logo on the knife isnt going to be to everyone's taste, but i dont blane heinnie for putting it there, as this knife is something they can be very proud of. No blade steel marking, the original Penfold has the steel engraved on the blade. Getting 550 paracord through the lanyard hole is quite fiddly.

    HH Penfold II

Posted by Seamus on 29th Mar 2021

Having bought the original Penfold, you would probably think that I would have preferred a different knife when presented with tha Penfold II as a gift. Not so! I was delighted. Ive bought quite a few folders in the last couple of years (too many, some might argue), but the penfolds are right up there with the best. This new version looks stunning in the closed position, with its sculpted lines and cut outs, and is a tad lighter in the hand. Fit and finish is as good as the original, and it somehow feels trustworthy and reliable in use, built for the task. All in all, an almost perfect folder, with just one tiny niggle, (for me), because I don't like the look of the flat grind on the Penfold II, it's just too penknifey and plain against the heavily sculpted body. The perfect Penfold for me would be the new body and the old grind, which adds nice lines to overall design. That last comment is purely personal preference though so I wouldn't Mark this gorgeous little folder down for it, it's worth every penny, and then some.

    Penfold 2.0

Posted by Russ on 26th Mar 2021

I was looking for a great, sub 50 knife for my dad's 70th birthday, spending HOURS researching and ended up with RAT II, which is perfect for him to use around the house and garden. Sent to him so I haven't actually physically had a look yet, but he's chuffed and great HH service as always. In all my browsing, however, I decided I definitely needed to update my own UK legal EDC. Had a Boker Plus Tech Tool City 1 ( great little value knife) about 3 years ago. This Penfold 2.0 ticked all the boxes. Very solid, but feels light, no blade play and v sharp sv35 blade. Nice firm stay on the open position. No fuss, clear lines and titanium handle. Recommended.
