I do feel bad giving this knife four stars because, in many ways, it does deserve five. The materials, fit/finish, practicality and ergonomics are excellent. The sheath is really cool and a very well thought-out design. The knife truly does live-up to the Glock reputation and it feels tough as nails. The only reason I've given it four stars is because, although relatively sharp, the grind on mine was absolutely FUBAR. A good 10-15 degrees off on one side and very lopsided at the point(tip). Needed to be reprofiled and sharpened -- which I'm not very good at -- so the edge still leaves much to be desired. All in all though, this is a fantastic knife which could probably hack down an oak tree if you tried hard enough. Fingers crossed that your edge isn't a dud like mine. Still easily worth the money.
A great addition to my collection. A solid knife If your on a budget and it comes with a nice sharp edge .
I watched a couple of You Tube videos on this before buying and it's as good as reported, there was mention that Glock knives have a reputation for being blunt out of the box, happily this wasn't the case with mine. At £40 you can't really go wrong.
Bought as a present so I can't comment on its strength or handiness but it seems a good knife in the hand if militaria is your thing. I can't help thinking the brand is £20 of the price, but time will tell
Extremely robust, sharp out of the box ... Made to meet military specifications, think of it as extra tough Mora. The sheath and locking system is first rate. If i was going to buy again, i think i would have gone for the saw-back version. Even so its a reliable general purpose field knife, designed to be used and abused.
A pretty impressive piece of kit at a very reasonable price. Tough and aggressive looking, I see someone said "a survival knife only if your situation involved a knife fight" which is probably right. However it is also super practical and tough and while not razor sharp it can be made that way. The handle will I am sure last forever and the blade is super tough, although the black coating does come off with use. For the price it must be hard to beat and the Glock name is cool. It can also be used as the World's most bad-ass bottle-opener.
I GOT MY MITTS ON THE M96 VERSION AND IT IS EASY TO SHARPEN SO ITS MY MORA ON STEROIDS. NICE.
So, I actually love this knife, but it's of very little use to me or for bushcrafting. The good is how sturdy it is, the handle feels good, the sheath is well made and very secure with some nice touches like the bottle opener. But, it's not actually very good at many things. The grind is too low and that stops you being able to do carving of any kind decently, the blade doesn't start for a good thumbs width from the guard and that also gets in the way of trying to do fine cutting. The nice black protective coating means you can't strike a fire steel off the spine and the clip point means you are likely to damage your baton or even break the tip when wood splitting. What it is good for is well to be blunt, destroying things. It is after all a military fighting knife, in the same vein as the Ka Bar USMC or John Nowill survival. It will cut through things and pierce without skipping a beat and is very unlikely to break. So, potentially useful as a survival knife, but if you are looking for something for general use and bushcraft, I'd suggest looking else where.
