The Gerber Gator Axes improve upon Gerber's award-winning line of axes. Gerber fused their famous Gator textured rubber grip onto the virtually unbreakable glass-filled nylon hanlde, giving these axes maximum grip in wet or dry conditions. The Gerber Gator Combo Axe II's head is made of forged steel for superior edge retention.

These hollow handle contains a very useful precision-ground saw, locked into the handle with a magnet. Now you have the tools you require to finish the job in one spot.

Bought for abuse and keeps on going.

I bought one of these not expecting much, it gets abused and keeps surpassing expectations, I did give it a proper sharpening (it was acceptable from new but any mass produced product will be a compromise) and it holds its edge surprisingly well. I have never really tested the saw, I would say that the grip on the saw would need to be approached with caution, a wet hand and a stuck saw could get nasty. Overall a good product for the money.
