An older model but it checks out fine

Posted by Chris Hants on 31st Oct 2024

Yes it's a Rat with a g-lock - and thats better for me. Never got on with the liner lock system so Im late to the party with this one and yes the action is sticky. A little oil and remembering the cost and age of first release the knife vs much newer and more expensive versions, this thing rocks. Already breaking in nicely and I don't think I will have to tweak it that much if at all. It's the Rat I always wanted, now if only it was in cpm 3v !! Usual amazing service from HH

    OK for the money

I was curious to see how Ganzo compared to Kizer knives given the price difference. It's pretty much as you'd imagine: This is a decent knife which could be great if it was fettled a bit in the factory. Out of the box it's sharp and there was no play BUT it was as stiff as a stiff thing to open and the locking pin was very difficult to operate. 4 days of fiddling with it and applying a selection of oils has made it a lot better. The spring in the locking mechanism is way too strong still so I will get around to stripping it down at some point. It feels good enough in the hand and I'm using it for rough work around the farm. So, a decent knife but could be a lot better.
