Description

Based on an old Sheffield pattern, the Frost Seaman’s knife is a no-nonsense folder that keeps your kit simple and useful. Satin-finish stainless blades — a sheepsfoot for neat cutting, a marlin spike for splicing and unpicking knots, and a practical can opener — fold cleanly into a black ABS handle that resists salt and doesn’t soak up water. Built-in bottle opener and a bail for a lanyard or clip mean it lives on the chest or belt, not at the bottom of a kitbag. Practical, corrosion-friendly and obvious in purpose — everything you’d ask for from a traditional slipjoint.

Frost Cutlery Seaman's Knife Folding Knife

Posted by Gary Ralph on 26th Feb 2026

Frost Cutlery Seaman’s Knife. Budget-friendly, traditional slipjoint folder based on a classic Sheffield pattern. Its got a decent sized 7.2 cm sheepsfoot blade 420 stainless steel, a marlin spike for knot unpicking, and a bottle opener. The black ABS handle is pretty good but nothing special really. Does the trick. It's budget friendly so you get what you pay for. UK legal. Its a really nice piece to have like I've done to include in some maritime, naval/military style folders. Heinnie H have got a nice varied selection at varied prices. I've already got a few. Really interesting pieces of kit

    Frost Seaman's Knife

Sturdy and good quality, but not a great design. When using the knife, the spine of the can opener protruding makes the grip uncomfortable Great service from Heinnie as usual though.
