Great little fifth pocket knife, super steel, lovely aesthetic, just let down one star by the fairly disappointing box it came in, not that I will use the box, but for £80 I did expect a little more

At first glance, the U4 is a seemingly modest penknife. No one would give it a second look when you pulled it from your pocket to peel an apple, open a letter or cut boxes. But looking closer one notices that the blade consists of high-grade powder steel with an edge that stays sharp for a very long time.
Holding the knife in your hand you would also notice the lightweight (22 grams) design. The blade locks for added safety and the symmetrical design allows for use by both right and left handers. The U4 is an excellent knife for carrying in your pocket, giving you a strong tool in a small package. Someone described the knife as resembling a wolf’s tooth and there just may be something to that. You might say the Mod U4 is “A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing”.

All you would hope for and expect from the description. SOme have commented adversely on the plastic handle - not me; works well. 4 stars as it's pricey
The U1 seems just right for you: small, sturdy, non locking blade. On top of this, the cocobolo handles are simply beautiful!
This knife is definitely all about the blade! Very unassuming little folder, but it definitely punches far above its stature. Incredibly sharp blade otb & although takes a little longer to sharpen than other steels, it holds its edge for a very long time. The handle is only there to serve the purpose of giving you something to hold onto, it does its job. Now if only Falkniven would make a UK legal carry knife.
There are many things in life which can make you unhappy. This does the exact reverse. The blade on this is so good it's just an absolute joy and pleasure to use. Owning one will make your life better.
This is small, light and fairly slim thus fits into a jacket pocket easily. The steel is superb and it is razor sharp OTB. The handle I agree isn't the best. It locks thus is not a legal carry. These are the only criticisms I have. Sensational old school unassuming little folder.
Cuts paracord using only half the blade length. Its like a tiny TK4, I've just used it to lever a broken rivet off a car and its not marked the blade at all. Not so easy to use if you have it on a keyring but I'm exploring small karabiners to release it quickly.
Although a touch smaller than my U2 I find the U4 blade shape more useful. This knife is all about the superb steel and the handle seems an afterthought, as if the price covers the blade and the cheap plastic handle comes free. Somehow the knife just works and it all comes together when you need to use it in the field or office. Another quality product supplied by HH, the finest purveyor of shiney things in the land.
I needed this blade as part of my "great blade steels test", plus a rockstead YXR7 and Spyderco ZDP189. This was the cheapest and a very nice piece. A most enjoyable test too.
