Ok ,so what do I think , its expensive ,but I think worth the money , quality always cost more and in the long run you gain .Ive read reviews ,watched clips on you tube .now had a chance to use it , out the box its sharp but 5 minutes stropping made it razor, its comfortable and fits in a large hand well ,I found the stainless bolster was sharpish and with a diamond stone very carefully took the edge off all round again 5 min work , not a complaint at all just for me making it a tad more comfortable . it fits in the sheath well and I like it ,I put a small square of gorilla tape over all rivet, and press stud inners where they touch ,or could touch the knife . that's my choice . the knife is 5 inch long and handle is 41/4 . its robust the blade is pretty thick at the spine 1/4inch,with a convex taper. but weighted almost on the centre point. its design is as primarily a skinner /dresser of meat , but you could easily use this in any situation , battening small pieces of wood or making feather sticks won't hurt this at all. I personally wouldn't go mad on those procedures , a hand axe or bigger knife are far better suited . but a good blade should be able to do most things well and what its designed to do extremely well ,this does. People get to hung up about what knives can and cannot do , use common sense . Ive hunted skinned and prepared different types of game over the years , this will do it all . in conclusion if you've got the money ,its a fine knife built with a solid reputation ,all knives will skin and dress meat ,if sharp ,this will do it ,and come back for more , will last years ,and will probably, out see you . If your thinking should I get one I would say yes treat yourself ,you won't be disappointed. Hennie Haynes as usual delivered speedily .
I cannot for the life of me as a pro hunter think that this knife has ever been designed with a hunter or hunting task in mind or for that matter been near a safari. It is radiator thick, has a poor fitting sheath that rattles, a miss shaped hump back spine and although can be made razor sharp, (as can any knife) is way too field technical to keep that way. A very expensive tent peg or for arm chair hunters? Try Morakniv for honest ugly value to TK2 if you like or can afford that kind of thing.
An incredible knife! My second Fallkniven 3G knife. Absolute perfection. Best of the best in knife steels. Convex 3G edge is scary sharp out of the box. Be prepared to go through multiple game animals without the need for even a touch up in a season. Strop with some compound is all that's needed when a touch up is needed. Handle is great when wet or greasy from game care, no loss of knife control assured. Can't think of a single negative. Get one if you're serious about hunting big game.
